AMENDMENT 0001, QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q & A’S)

Solicitation RFQ 15-37 Catering Srvcs 2014 National Medals of Arts Dinner September 9.

Please acknowledge receipt of the Amendment via email so that the Contracting Officer knows the paperwork was delivered and received. In accordance with the Standard Form 30 (SF30), Amendment of Solicitation the Contractor is required to sign the SF30 document and return 1 copy to the issuing office at the time proposals are due.

Q1: Will this be served as a Buffet or individually plated?

A1: Individually Plated

Q2: Are there any food issues we need to be aware of or concerned with (allergies, cultural avoidance)

A2: We would like to be able to offer guests a vegetarian option, but there are no specific allergies to take into consideration at this point.

Q3: Do you want us to provide the drinks? If so, do you want a full bar or just beer & wine? (Plus non-alcoholic beverages, of course)

A3: No. PCAH will work with an alcohol distributor to purchase wine and beer, as well as a specialty cocktail for the pre-dinner reception. Non-alcoholic beverages (coffee, tea, soda) should be provided by the Caterer.

Q4: Are there any foods you would particularly like to have served?

A4: No – we generally serve a meat dish (fish, chicken, or beef) with a vegetarian option, but are happy for the Caterer to suggest main dish options.

Q5: Is there a theme to this event?

A5: This dinner is in honor of the 2014 recipients of the National Medal of the Arts and the National

Humanities Medal. We are looking for a Caterer to provide us with a creative, unique menu that is somewhat playful – the theme for the evening is a celebration of achievement in the field of the arts and the humanities, so we want to provide our guests with a dinner experience that will stand out.

Q6: Has a contractor performed similar work to this for the government in the past?

If available, please provide the incumbent contract number.

A6: Yes. This dinner was hosted in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, with a contracted Caterer providing food, linens, tableware, and wait staff at each event.

Q7: If you are unable to provide a contract number, is it safe to assume this is a new requirement for the government?

A7: This is not a new requirement, as these services have been required at this event at least 4 times in recent years (since 2010).
