About this file
This is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by North Dakota State University (NDSU) for a fencing project at the Hettinger Research Extension Center. The bid solicits contractors to complete two distinct fencing scopes: Bid 1 involves removing 5,480 feet of existing wire fence and installing approximately 7,623 feet of 35" woven wire fence with barbed wire, 3,359 feet of 6-strand barbed wire fence, 4 wire gates, and at least 13 corners. Bid 2 focuses on adding barbed wire strands to existing fence sections (7,920 feet with 2 strands and 2,640 feet with 3 strands), installing 3 wire gates, and re-stretching current fence. The bid was issued on 06/17/2025, with a bid due date of 07/02/2025 at 2pm CST, and work is expected to commence after July 1, 2025.
The bid requires a pre-bid site inspection with Troy Ness, mandates that contractors perform their own measurements, and specifies that NDSU will retain removed t-posts while the contractor is responsible for disposing of other removed materials. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with pricing to be firm for the contract period. Contractors must provide comprehensive insurance coverage, including commercial general liability with $1,000,000 per occurrence, workers' compensation, and employer's liability insurance. The project is funded through NDSU's internal budget, with work to be completed as soon as possible after the July 1, 2025 start date.
