About this file
This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) Addendum #1 issued by North Dakota State University (NDSU) for a concrete construction project at the Carrington Research Center. The procurement involves installing concrete for two animal research pens, each measuring 58'x74' x 6" thick, with rebar inclusion. The bid response deadline is 04/21/2025 at 2:00 PM CST, with a mandatory site visit required for all potential bidders. The contract period is scheduled from March 24th to September 12th, 2025, and will be awarded to the most responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest price.
The addendum includes three key questions from potential bidders regarding rebar specifications, concrete PSI, slab-on-grade details, and site clay availability for ground compaction. While no specific budget range is detailed, the project requires substantial insurance coverage, including commercial general liability and automobile liability with minimum limits of $500,000 per person and $2,000,000 per occurrence. The solicitation emphasizes compliance with North Dakota state non-discrimination regulations and requires contractors to demonstrate technical capability for specialized concrete work in research facility pen construction.

Depends on when the project would get completed. We have clay right now, but plan to use it on other projects this summer.

| Concrete PSI and also is this a slab on grade level? |
A little hard to answer. This is one reason we want them on-site so they can see nearby pens that were already renovated just a few years ago.
Please consider a site visit.

| It looks like the slabs are in feed pins in there clay available onsite to use in case the ground doesn't meet compaction standards and has to be sub cut? |
