This document is ATF Form 8800.6, a Non-Disclosure Agreement for Access to Controlled Unclassified Information issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), revised January 2024.
The agreement establishes the terms and conditions for employees, contractors, task force officers, and volunteers to access Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) held by ATF. Controlled Unclassified Information includes data regarding government personnel or property security, proprietary business information, ongoing law enforcement investigation details, Grand Jury information, tax return information, work-product and deliberative-process privileged information, and other statutorily protected information. Signatories must obtain written authorization from the Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations (OPRSO), Security and Emergency Programs Division (SEPD), Information Security Branch (ISB) before disclosing any CUI and must submit any intended publications for security review prior to release. The agreement applies during and after the period of access unless the signatory receives written release from ATF. Violations may result in cancellation of access to both classified and unclassified sensitive information, civil action for damages, criminal prosecution for willful disclosure, and disciplinary action including termination of employment. All royalties or remunerations from any unauthorized disclosure are assigned to the U.S. Government. The agreement requires signature by the individual accessing CUI and acceptance by an authorized ATF official as a prior condition of access, with further third-party release requiring execution of a separate non-disclosure agreement.
