About this file
This document is a letter from the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) dated April 15, 2025, asserting their sole source status for the NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector Course. AMPP claims to be the exclusive administrator of this course, which was originally developed under NAVSEA 05M1 by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, and has been maintained by AMPP since 2000. The letter highlights AMPP's role as a non-profit association focused on protection and preservation of industrial and marine structures through high-performance coatings, offering core services including industry standards, technical publications, training and certification courses, contractor certification programs, meetings/conferences, and online resources. A notable side note indicates that another association can provide the course, but only within the Norfolk, VA area.
