About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of a Multi-channel 12 GHz microwave synthesizer. One unit is required with the following specifications:
The synthesizer must comprise five independent channels total: three channels capable of generating sinusoidal output from 10 MHz to 12 GHz, and two channels capable of generating output from 10 MHz to 6 GHz (though 12 GHz capability is optional for these channels). All channels must feature SMA connectors with 50 Ohm nominal load, output power ranging from -10 to 15 dBm, frequency step size of at most 0.001 Hz, and frequency/amplitude switching speeds of at most 500 microseconds. The 12 GHz channels must demonstrate harmonic amplitude less than -25 dBc over the 1–10 GHz range, SSB phase noise at 6 GHz less than -90 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz offset and -110 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset, and SSB phase noise at 12 GHz less than -85 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz offset and -95 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. The 6 GHz channels require similar specifications with corresponding phase noise requirements. Additionally, the two 6 GHz channels must include a dedicated analog modulation port for frequency control with 100 kHz deviation and 20 kHz modulation bandwidth using a ±1V signal, and all channels must support list-based frequency and amplitude scans.
The synthesizer must include a 10/100 MHz reference input and 100 MHz reference output, operate on standard US 110V AC consuming less than 100W, and function under normal laboratory conditions at 25°C. The unit must be programmable via USB and/or SPI (or equivalent digital protocols), housed in a 19-inch rack-mountable chassis less than 3U high, include calibration certification, and be controllable via computer through a graphical user interface.
