RFQ Question Submittal Form
Question No.QUESTIONGOVERNMENT RESPONSE
1We will need more information so we understand if we’ll be working off of scaffolding, ladders, or some kind of lift. Please provide photos or more information of the installation site.Line installation is above the head, approximately 15 feet in some locations. Anticipate the need of a ladder. Interstitial has duct work that the line needs to go around.
2Please also extend closing date pending these clarifications.Amendment 2 hereby extends the Quotation due date to March 18, 2019 by 10:00am Mountain Time
3Is Installation services a hard requirement for this gas cabinet, or can we take an exception to this and provide pricing just for the cabinet?Yes. To be considered Technically Acceptable, all SOW specification requirements must be met.
4Verify NIST’s Demolition scope of existing gas rack

a. Please verify that all services (Electrical, Gas monitoring/UVIR alarm controls, house Nitrogen, and (x3) vent lines) serving the existing system will be demolished right above the existing rack, with controls/power wiring inside the conduits to remain full length.

i. This will allow the new UVIR fire sentry to plug directly into the existing UVIR controls, and it’s likely that electrical wiring can be reused. Worst case the conduit can be reused with new wiring.

ii. Existing vent lines will be reused also, if this is not wanted by NIST we can route new vents to the same location.

Yes, the demolition will preserve all of the existing utilities.
5Verify the dimensions of the existing equipment pad. It appears that the new AP10 unit will fit on the existing pad if it’s rotated ±90 degrees from the current rack configuration.
a.If a new equipment pad is required that will be furnished by NIST, setback requirements will be interpreted by NIST to determine location and the direction the AP10 will face.If a new equipment pad is required, NIST will provide it.
6Verify that all core holes through building walls/floors to accommodate our 1/4" silane tubing will be done by NIST facilities after we layout locations.NIST will provide the required holes through walls and the floors.
7Confirm connection type of the silane tubing at termination in the cleanroom.
a. It was discussed that the tool will not be in place before we’re finished with our install. Confirm that a welded cap at the end of this line is acceptable and NIST will make final connection once the tool is installed.NIST would like a VCR cap in the cleanroom.
8Will shop drawings of our silane gas tubing route be required? A building CAD/Revit model would need to be provided for us to accomplish this. Field routing is preferred as we’re following the same route as the existing silane tubing.NIST does not require CAD drawings of the new line. Field routing following the existing line is acceptable.
9Permits/Inspections – Please confirm who is the AHJ (authority having jurisdiction) for NIST buildings. Will this work require a city of boulder permit or is NIST it’s own internal AHJ? Note: the statement of work provided would not be sufficient to obtain a city of boulder permit as we’d need stamped engineered drawings.NIST is the AHJ, permits are not required from the city.
10Can we quote this without the certificates included under the contingency that they are provided before any work begins.NIST prefers certs to be included with the quotation; however, NIST will accept quotations with the contingency that the orbital welding certs are provided before work begins on the lines. Note: Any Delay in work to obtain certs will result in negative performance report and will be at the Contractor's expense.
