About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ NB672010-26-01000 regarding a VNA Extender Head, issued on 3 April 2026. The document provides clarification on two key technical specification inquiries from potential bidders.

The first Q&A clarifies that all specifications in the solicitation are typical specifications, as determined by measurements performed at NIST. The second Q&A addresses the "13dBm maximum test port power" requirement, explaining that output power is defined at the waveguide test port as measured by a power meter. For the 110-170 GHz frequency band, the maximum available power must be 13 dBm across all frequencies to account for the insertion loss of measurement equipment. This document does not address pricing terms, response deadlines, award information, or other contractual details beyond technical specification clarification.

NB672010-26-01000 - VNA Extender Head RFQ

Questions and Answers

3 April 2026

Q: For many of these specifications, are they "typical" specifications, "minimum" specifications, or defined some other way? It would be good to understand how these are determined.

A: All the specifications are typical. They were determined by performing measurements at

NIST.

Q: For "13dBm maximum test port power", can you help me understand how this is defined?

Does this mean that the maximum test port power must be 13dBm or more across the entire 110- 170 GHz band?

A: Output power is defined at the waveguide test port power measured by a power meter. For 110-170 GHz band, the maximum available must be 13 dBm across all frequencies because of the insertion loss of the measurement equipment.
