About this file
This document is a Requirements Document for an Automatic Precision Sectioning Saw issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The solicitation seeks a precision machine capable of processing annealed glass rod into wafer form through automatic serial sectioning, with 20 specific technical requirements including 3-axis blade movement, touch screen controls, laser alignment system, programmable settings, and specific performance parameters like 2.5-inch cut capacity and 2.5Hp motor power.
Delivery requirements specify the machine must be delivered within 30 days of award to NIST's Gaithersburg, Maryland location during normal business hours. The government will conduct acceptance inspection within 14 days of delivery, and the contractor must provide an 18-month warranty covering technical support, replacement parts, repair labor, and associated travel expenses. The warranty will commence after final government acceptance, with the equipment expected to conform to specifications and be free from material and workmanship defects.
