About this file
This document outlines requirements for a 5-axis gyro-stabilized gimbal camera system. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Kennedy Space Center requires delivery of the system by June 30, 2020 to provide single payload capability, interchangeability between two camera systems, and control from 20 feet away. The system must operate from 0 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit at altitudes up to 25,000 feet with desired operation to 35,000 feet. Additional requirements include 360 degree continuous rotation, +/- 90 degree tilting without reconfiguration, less than 40 pound weight, wireless control integration, field-swappable payloads under 2 hours, and operation to 200 knots airspeed. Compatible camera options include Red Weapon 8K Helium, Red Epic 6K Dragon, Arri Alexa Mini, and Canon C700, along with lens options from Canon and Angenieux. The document also specifies a related sole-source federal contract opportunity for the system from Gyro-Stabilized Systems with a 90-day period of performance.
