SUMMARY OF CHANGES
The following items are applicable to this amendment:
The purpose of this amendment is:
(A) Answer PPI's-see answers below. A follow on amendment will be issued to cover those questions still needing to be answered.
• Bldg 4743, Item 1.3 – This item references 9ga barb wire, which I don’t think exists. Is the intent a standard 12.5ga 4-point class III barb wire? (This is the heaviest I’m aware of)
• Barb wire is 12.5 gauge wire with 14 gauge, round 4-point barbs.
• Bldg 758, Item 1.11 – Refers to 12’ high fence with three strands of barb wire. The ceiling beam aren’t high enough to allow for 12’ plus barb wire. Is the intent an 11’ chain link, plus three strands of barb wire, or 12’ chain link, without barb wire?
• See below for new SOW on B758 Fence.
• Enclosure 2 states “Single wheel supported v-groove sliding” gate, however the illustration is a cantilever gate. V-grooves added to cantilever gates tend to be problematic. Is the intent a v-groove wheeled gate, or a cantilever gate?
• See below for new SOW on B758 Fence.
• Is there mobilization payment for these CLIN's?
• Offerors need to include any and all cost associated with completing the project.
• Is there a bond requirement for these CLIN's?
• Bonds are required for every construction project that exceeds $35,000.
BLDG758-SUPPLY INSTALL SECURITY FENCING
1.11. Install approximately 100LF of galvanized 9 gauge chain link fence inside BLDG 758 on NAS Kingsville, TX. Fencing will be approximately12 foot high with top-rail. Contractor will include all post, rails, fencing and hardware needed to secure two storage areas. See Enclosure (8) for details.
1.12. The contractor shall also install (2) 8’x12’ single sliding chain-link gates, one for each storage area. Each gate will have hardware for sliding and have the ability to utilize a pad lock to secure.
The contractor shall refer to Enclosure (8) for existing gate(s) photos. Gates shall slide on outside of storage space and not require any rail on floor.
1.13. Posts shall be anchored to floor similar to existing posts utilizing epoxy anchors in concrete.
Posts shall also be fastened to the structural concrete beam above fence line.
1.14. Demolish approximately 100LF of existing 8ft chain link fence, poles and associated hardware.
1.15. Contractor is responsible for compliant off-base disposal of all material associated with the project.
