About this file

This document contains responses to pre-proposal inquiries for a solicitation seeking tree, vegetation and debris removal services at Naval Station Mayport in Florida. The solicitation is seeking to clear, trim and dispose of vegetation and debris in various locations around the base and off-base exchange. Responses to contractor questions provide additional details on work requirements, such as not allowing burial of construction debris; confirming certain areas have been cleared already; and clarifying that a secure temporary fence must be installed before removing any existing fences. The document also establishes that utilities will not be relocated as part of this work and vegetation impacting utilities must be trimmed as much as possible. Trees removed may be replaced in locations determined by the base's facilities division, rather than the original site.

9 5/11/2021 RDG, LLC Around building 1338 (other buildings/locations may have same issues) we are to prune/trim bushes around the building at a distance of 3 feet from the building. If we trim the shrubs to the 3 foot rule from the ground up to the height of the shrubs we estimate over 70% of the shrubs would be taken out when we trim the trunks of the shrubs to the 3 foot rule with some totally being removed and many with just one or two trunks left.

Question: 1 Is this acceptable or would the government please consider total removal of shrubs and clarify before proposals are due? Question: 2 Where shrubs and bushes remain, please clarify if the contractors is required to trim and shape remaining bushes on all sides of shrubs and bushes?

Clearing around building 1338 is not included in this project. If clearing within 3' of a building will remove the majority of the bush/shrub/tree then removing the entire bush/shrub/tree is acceptable.
