SECTION C - DESCRIPTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS

The following have been modified:

SOW

Building 3008 Room 214, 215, & 216 Installation of Corning multimode (MM) OM3 Fiber and red shielded Cat6 cables to floor boxes. PM3008 R216 Layout drawing.

•Vendor must supply the parts as described in the SOW and install them.
•Require a quote that shows what parts the vendor is providing.
1)Provide and install (1) 2” conduit stub up into the drop ceiling from the customer supplied CPI two-bay cabinet and secure the new cabinet to the floor. (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 3)
2)Provide and install (1) CPI 11” brush grommet, Part #13671-001, in the floor tile under the new cabinet. (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 3)
3)Provide and install (3) CPI floor boxes, Part #A0802-RF-D1 (1) in the center of room 214, 215 & 216. (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 3)
4)Provide & install (48) Berk-Tek red Cat6 Shielded network cables to each of the floor boxes under the floor in rooms 214, 215 & 216. Cables will be fed from the bottom bay of the new CPI two-bay cabinet. Leave a 20’ service coil at each box, so boxes can be relocated in the future. (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 3)
5)Cables runs will travel through the raised floor, between the cabinet and the floor boxes.
6)Provide and install (288) red Leviton shielded Cat6 Jacks, Part #61SJKRC6 to terminate cables on each end.
7)Provide and install (6) Leviton shielded modular patch panel, Part #4S255-S48.
8)Terminate, certify & label all new cables installed.
9)Ground/bond each patch panel. Bond each patch panel to the main ground system to be determined on site.
10)Provide and install (1) 12F MM OM3 TB aqua cable form the new cabinet in room #216 up to room #356 (use the existing conduit in place). (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 4)
11)Provide and install (1) Corning CCH-O2U fiber patch panel in the existing rack in room #356. (1) 12F MM OM3 LC adaptor panel. (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 4)
12)Provide and install (1) Corning O1U fiber patch panel in the new CPI cabinet bottom bay. (1) 12F MM OM3 LC adaptor panel. (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 4)
13)Provide and install (1) 2” fire sleeve penetration under the floor from room #216 to room #215. (PM3008 R216 Layout.pdf Page 4)
14)Relocate the existing DITAC fiber cables from the existing small cabinet to the new CPI cabinet, and land in the top bay. (3) 6F SM TB cables and (3) 12F MM OM3 TB cables.
15)Re-use the existing DITAC fiber patch panel in the new cabinet.
16)Provide and install (1) SmartUPS 1500VA Uninterruptible Power Supply w/network card, Part #SMX1500RM2UCNC.
17)One 6F singlemode and one 12F multimode OM3 cables shall be re-pulled from room 218 to the new cabinet in room 216, approximately 100’.
18)Installation of 110V power to the new cabinet along with a ground bar.

Building 36 Room 1316 & 1310 Installation of Fiber Optic AEA 6F MM TO (28) Locations. PM36 R1310 AEA Drops Drawing.

1)Provide and install (1) AEA 6F MM OM3 cable to each of the (28) workstations located in rooms 1316 & 1310 (4 strands) terminated LC/LC. Cable will be suspended above the drop ceiling with 2” J-hooks.
2)Provide and install Leviton MOS at each fiber cable drop location with the LC insert for each labeling to identify specific network and drop ID per standard labeling scheme. (1) MOS/box at each of the (28) workstations.
3)Provide and install 1” white ICC SMR and fittings on the walls down to the MOS box at the workstations.
4)Provide and install the necessary Corning CCH-CP24-E4 adapters LC adaptor panels at the IDF in the existing 4U patch panel.
5)Provide and install metal backing plate to span from side to side of the furniture panels for the MOS box to mount at all (28) workstations.
6)Provide labor and hardware for mounting metal plating.
7)Demo & removal of any existing unused copper network cabling to the space. Cover the empty wall boxes with blank faceplates.
8)Provide red line drawings for final workstation layout with labeling for all fiber optic drops.

The follow-up questions and answers:

The term AEA is just the name we internally refer to the network.

Bldg 3008:

1. Line item4 - How much red Cat6? You should be able to base the amount on the drawing that was provided. Attached is the drawing with the dimensions. The SOW asks for you to bid installing 48 cables to each of the 3 boxes, the intended location of the floor box will is in the center of each room. The vendor needs to determine how much cabling is necessary to accomplish that. Please use the drawings with the dimensions and the penetration you are being asked to install under RM215 and underfloor pathways to RM216 & RM214. Please bid appropriately based on YOUR calculations.

1. Line item 5 – do you have an example of the metal backing plate that is being described? No; it is just a spanner rail to go across the furniture. If you don’t use a metal backing to mount to the furniture, you need to determine a way to mount the surface mount enclosure to the furniture; they cannot mount to the kick plate.

1. Line item 9 - Did you want me to quote grounding for the patch panels, and if so what type or part number? A specific part number has not been provided for the “grounding” of each patch panel. The vendor needs to provide an electrical ground to the cabinet, and ground the cabinet and shielded patch panels to the TGB ground bus inside the closest electrical panel or to building steel. The patch panels can be bonded to the same ground. Based on local electrical code and standards, it is up to the vendor to determine the appropriate gauge wire and termination necessary to accomplish this task. There is no part number for “grounding.” The vendor needs to provide the necessary hardware and components to perform the grounding of those items, such as but not limited to wire, connectors, lugs, crimps, bus bars, terminal blocks, etc. Please bid appropriately.

1. Line item 10 – What length fiber, and pre-terminated? Exact footage is unknown, but 350’ should be sufficient. The cable does not need to be pre-terminated. The SOW says to install (1) 12F MM OM3 cable, and use LC adapter panels on both sides of the termination. Please infer from this that we expect the cable to be terminated with LC connectors and terminated into an LC adapter panel, on both sides. We do not have a building drawing and cannot provide a definitive length. Please bid appropriately.

1. Line item 10, 12, 14, 17 – Connector Type? (I’m assuming it’s all LC, just making sure!)

Yes, all of the fiber connectors and terminations that need to be completed should be LC.

1. Line item 17 – We are asking to move cables from an old cabinet to a new one. We believe there is adequate cabling in place to successfully complete this work. ) There are existing cables that should be long enough to remove them from an existing cabinet and move them, re-land them into the new cabinet. If they need to be re-run, it does not need to be pre-term.

1. Line item 14 and 17 –Do we need additional fiber enclosures and adapter panels? This should bequoted be as an option. There are existing cables that should be long enough to remove them from an existing cabinet and move them, re-land them into the new cabinet. The existing fiber patch panel and adapter panels that are in the existing cabinet would be relocated to the new cabinet.
