About this file
This is a Questions and Responses document providing clarifications for RFQ N6852026Q1006, a firm fixed price commercial service contract for repair and inspection of an Upton Internally Heated Salt Bath Furnace (Model U-DS/UDJ6A, Serial Number DS-2976) located at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. The furnace is used to heat treat various aircraft components. This is a new requirement with no incumbent contractor; the contract number will be assigned upon award.
Key technical details include tank dimensions of 209 inches length by 61 inches width by 90 inches depth, with a 30,000-pound salts weight capacity and an 85.37 cubic foot working zone volume. All work will be performed by a single contractor with sequencing developed prior to start of work. Inspection activities may span multiple days due to equipment setup requirements. The Government confirms that the inspection scope aligns with its expectations. The award will be made to the responsible offeror providing the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable quotation based on price reasonableness in accordance with FAR 13.106-3, with technical acceptability evaluated on an Acceptable/Unacceptable basis. A site visit was scheduled for March 16, 2026, at 9:00 AM EST at FRCSE, Jacksonville, Florida.
