CONTRACTOR QUESTION
SUBJECT:
SPECIFIC QUESTION:
I am writing to ask for clarification on the following part of the solicitation, 52.211-10 COMMENCEMENT, PROSECUTION, AND COMPLETION OF WORK (APR 1984)
The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within [10] calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the notice to proceed, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use not later than [90 days after notice to proceed]. The time stated for completion shall include final cleanup of the premises.
Will the Notice to Proceed be issued directly after award? What is the timing for issuing the award and start of work?
REFERENCE: (SOW, SCHEDULE, ETC.)

GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
If you are accepted as the lowest price technically acceptable, there will be a pre-construction meeting to go over the project in more depth. At the end of that meeting, we usually provide the notice to proceed to the contractor barring any major problems. The contractor then has 10 days to start the work and 90 days to complete the work.
