SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION A - SOLICITATION/CONTRACT FORM
The following have been modified:
GENERAL INFORMATION
Distribution: To be provided at award NUWCDIVNPT PR Number: To be provided at award
NUWCDIVNPT PID: N66604-24-SIMACQ-NPT-10-0237
NUWCDIVNPT Points of Contact: Jay Parker, jay.a.parker2.civ@us.navy.mil and Michael Ouellette Michael.N.Ouellette.civ@us.navy.mil
Amendment 0001: The purpose of this amendment is to:
1. Revise attachment 2:
Remove: Drawings Lab and Collaborative Space Renovation dated 25-Jan-2024 Insert: Rev. Drawings Lab and Collaborative Space Renovation dated 12-Aug-2024.
3. Provide responses to RFI 0001:
1. It is our understanding that in Building 1320, the contractor will only be allowed three rooms at a time.
Will the Navy consider increasing this amount? There are 30 offices on the 5th floor meaning that 10 mobilizations would be required in this building alone.
Response: This was the plan offered by the floor manager of B1320-5. The number of mobilizations required for B1320 should be determined during preconstruction meetings and in coordination with the Construction Manager and Building Manager.
2. Are there any additional phasing, duration, access requirements or limitations in these spaces that will impact the project schedule?
Response: The proper phasing and clearing out of spaces on campus will be contingent upon the contractor’s baseline schedule submission and coordination between the Construction Manager and Building Managers.
3. During the walkthrough there were several areas where boards, TVs, and mounts were present on the walls.
Who is responsible for the removal and storage of all wall mounted items prior to painting?
Response: Wall-mounted objects such as whiteboards and TVs in areas that require painting will be responsibility of the contractor. The items will be stored in the location they are removed from and remounted by the contractor upon completion of painting.
4. Who is responsible for removal of all furniture in the various offices/labs to allow for flooring replacement?
Response: Government will be responsible for the moving of all furniture and equipment that is not wall-mounted.
5. What allowance (days) should be planned for the government furniture removals/replacements? With a 120-day contract duration, this down time will be critical to the project schedule.
Response: The time required for government to clear spaces is dependent upon the quantity of materials to be cleared. The proper phasing and clearing out of spaces on campus will be contingent upon the contractor’s baseline schedule submission and coordination between the Construction Manager and Building Managers.
6. In labs / offices that contain demountable partitions; what is the expectation of the government for the floor replacement? Will the contractor be responsible for means/methods of carpeting under the partitions, or carpeting to the partitions?
Response: The expectation is for flooring up to the partition. (Question mooted by descope of B1371)
7. In the location of the demountable partition with the sliding glass doors, will the contractor be responsible for means/methods of carpeting under this partition?
Response: The expectation is for flooring up to the partition. (Question mooted by descope of B1371)
8. Will the government or the contractor be responsible for taking the elevators out of use while flooring is being replaced? Will this be done by in-house government personnel, or will an elevator vendor be required?
Response: Government will be responsible for taking elevators out of use. The government will use its vendor to do so and will require coordination between the Construction Manager and Building Manager.
All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
