The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWCDIVNPT) Code 15 Acceptance Testing

Procedure for Linear Tape Open (LTO) Tape Duplication Systems

Scope:

This document is to be used by the NUWCDIVNPT Data Management Team in Code 15 to evaluate the performance of LTO-6 and LTO-7 tape duplication systems delivered under contract number N66604-17-P-0829, Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) 0001, 0002, and Options

0003, and 0004.

Purpose:

This document establishes the steps that NUWCDIVNPT intends to follow to determine that

LTO-6 and LTO-7 tape duplication systems meet the minimum requirements, as listed in contract number N66604-17-P-0829, prior to acceptance.

NUWCDIVNPT Test Sequence:

Task 1: Create three (3) unique sample tapes with different recordings on each tape using

Government owned LTO-6 and LTO-7 tape duplication systems.

Task 2: Use one (1) LTO-6 tape duplication system (delivered under CLIN 0001) to perform duplication of the three (3) unique sample tapes created under Task 1 according to the Standard

Operating Procedure (see Appendix A).

Task 3: Use one (1) LTO-7 tape duplication system (delivered under CLIN 0002) to perform duplication of the three (3) unique sample tapes created under Task 1 according to the Standard

Operating Procedure (see Appendix A).

Task 4: Compare the size and composition of the data on the six (6) tapes created in Task 2 and

Task 3 to the three (3) sample tapes created in Task 1, using the NUWCDIVNPT network.

Acceptance Criteria:

The LTO-6 and LTO-7 units delivered under CLIN 0001 and CLIN 0002 will be accepted by

NUWCDIVNPT only if the size and composition of the data contained in all six (6) tapes created under Task 2 and Task 3 are identical to the size and composition of the data contained in the three (3) sample tapes created under Task 1.

Results:

If the LTO-6 and LTO-7 units are deemed unacceptable, NUWCDIVNPT will provide results of the duplication errors to the Contractor and a solution will be agreed upon, implemented and tested for satisfactory operation at no additional cost to the Government before acceptance of the systems.

If the LTO-6 and LTO-7 units are deemed acceptable, the Government may exercise the Options

(CLIN 0003 and CLIN 0004) for delivery of two (2) LTO-6 and two (2) LTO-7 units. All units ordered under CLIN 0003 and CLIN 0004 shall be subject to undergo the acceptance testing procedures stated herein prior to acceptance by NUWCDIVNPT.
