Questions and Answers

1. TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE – that the dealer and manufacturers are solely small business owners – is that correct?

Answer-Yes, that is correct.

2. Attachment 2 General Work Requirements makes reference to drawings and existing conditions requiring field verification, but none were found in the documents provided with the Solicitation. Will there be drawings provided for review?

Answer Yes, three drawings are attached. We can provide a drawing showing room configuration with who is assigned to each room. The architectural as-built drawing of the rooms showing dimensions. And the electrical as-built drawing showing location of electrical receptacles.

We cannot provide architectural and electrical drawings of rooms 210, 211 & 212. These rooms were not part of the original building construction, but are in a modular building that was added years ago and the portable building’s details are no longer available.

3. Attachment 1 Furniture SOW provides a list of “Guidelines of Dimensions for furniture.” Is it acceptable to modify this guideline if the requirements listed in the preceding room descriptions above would require a modification to said guideline?

Answer Yes, it is acceptable to modify this guideline.

4. Regarding Attachment 1 Furniture SOW, the request for furnishings in room 206 include a “small Vidmar cabinet.” Is this being provided by others? Vidmar is not registered as a small business manufacturer, so therefore would not qualify for this contract's requirements. If the “Vidmar” description is merely a basis of bid, please provide more details as to what this cabinet should include in order to properly specify an appropriate product.

This cabinet is not being provided by others, but is to be included as part of this contract.

Requested is a “Vidmar” type metal cabinet (does not have to be manufactured by Vidmar).

Dimensions are approximately 60” height, 30” width, 28” depth and with 10 drawers.

5. Regarding Attachment 1 Furniture SOW, the furniture descriptions are vague, making determination of best value challenging. Will there be more detailed specifications provided to ensure desired components/material types are included in proposed solutions?

No, more detailed specifications will NOT be provided. For comparison, we will provide pictures of furniture in EHW-2’s Support Building. We are seeking similar type.

6. Regarding Attachment 1 Furniture SOW, please define the difference between requested desk & workstation and provide desired configuration of each.

Answer Desk refers to stand-alone desk. Workstation refers to modular furniture cubicle. We are requesting recommendation for desired configuration based on size of room and furniture being requested.

7. Regarding Attachment 1 Furniture SOW, there is a request for (3) heavy duty, industrial bunk beds. Is this quantity for (3) 2-bed configurations? Or (3) single bunkable beds? Also, are mattresses and/or pillows to be included?

Answer At time of SOW development, three 3-bed configurations were requested in order to sleep nine. Since, a fourthl 3-bed configuration has been requested in order to sleep twelve. If space allows for sleeping twelve, please provide best alternative based on room size.

Mattresses are to be included, but not pillows.

8. Can you advise on preferred colors for Furniture requested? And style office executive?

The SOW requested grey color with woodtones. We are not familiar with various styles available, but would prefer some type that is “durable”. For comparison, we will provide pictures of furniture in EHW-2’s Support Building. We are seeking similar type.

9. Are there any photos, or floor plans available for this request, outside of the Furniture Requirements and rooms dimensions provided? If so, how can I request a copy?

Answer -Yes, photos and floor plans provided.

10. The furniture scope calls out workstation desk sizes, but not the actual workstation specifications? Are there any requests for workstation panel heights, shape (l-shaped), etc? Or does it matter as long as it meets the specified performance requirements provided in the scope?

Answer There are no specific requested for workstation heights, shape, etc. We are requesting standard heights and relying on contractor recommendations.

11. Has an award date been established? The scope calls for the purchase, delivery, assembly and installation of furniture between 2 September and 31 December. With current furniture manufacturer lead times, this is helpful to know in order to procure furniture that can meet project deadlines.

Answer- No, an award date has not been established.

12. Can you please provide dimensions and salient characteristics for the 1 Vidmar Cabinet in room

206?

Answer -Requested is a “Vidmar” type metal cabinet (does not have to be an actual Vidmar).

Dimensions are approximately 60” height, 30” width, 28” depth and with 10 drawers.

13. Can you please provide clarification on the heavy duty, industrial bunk beds in room 116:

Answer -Marine Corps personnel utilize this space. Heavy duty is being requested due to frequent use by military personnel.

a. Confirm size of bed?

Twin-bed size

b. Confirm if mattress and bedding accessories need to be included, or just the frames?

Mattresses yes. Bedding accessories no.

14. Can you please provide clarification on what type of chairs you would like in rooms 203, 210, and 211?

Answer

a. Room 203 calls for 40 chairs (other than desk chairs), would these be side/guest chairs, conference chairs, task chairs, etc.?

Conference room chairs with wheels. Room 203 is a briefing room where meetings take place.

b. Room 210 calls for 25 chairs (4 of which are desk chairs). Would these also be side/guest chairs, conference chairs, task chairs, etc.?

The chairs that are NOT desk chairs need to be side/guest chairs.

c. Room 211 also calls for 24 chairs, same question as previous above rooms?

These need to be side/guest chairs

15. Can you provide clarification on the 1 armchair in room 212? Is that a lounge chair and are you looking for 78”H? Can you provide a picture example, if possible?

The chair needs to be a standard height lounge chair, preferably matching style & color of the couches. We do not have a picture example.

16. If we look at the number under the occupants for furniture requirements in Room 210, it says 11 but under the furniture column, it asks for only 4 workstations and desk chairs. Is that okay?

Should we go with the furniture column here, or do we need stations and seating to accommodate 11 people? I pose the same question for Room 211, with 15 occupants, versus 9 workstations and 9 chairs. Please advise?

Answer For room 210, yes that is OK. Go with the furniture column here. We do not need stations and seating for 11 people. The occupancy of the room fluctuates depending on operations in the building, with people often working differing shifts.

Go with the furniture column for room 211 also.
