The amendment extends the response due date from July 28, 2026 to August 13, 2026 and updates Section C (Performance Work Statement), Section J (Attachments), and contract administration data. The contract is firm fixed price.
The Performance Work Statement requires the contractor to acquire, install, and test an additional battery cabinet and forty-eight (48) Enersys 12HX505-FR batteries to expand backup capacity for an existing Schneider Electric Symmetra PX 250/500 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system at NSWC Corona. Specific hardware required includes one IntraPack Battery Cabinet (Part Number IP6-48H505-288-1-2D300) and two Schneider Electric 300A DC Breakers (Part Number LGL37040D30ACSO). The contractor must be an authorized OEM, dealer, distributor, or reseller and provide proof of authorization at offer submission. Installation tasks include delivery, assembly, proper wiring of breakers and battery strings with torqued connections and anti-corrosion compound application, system integration without causing network downtime, and debris removal. Testing and commissioning require calibration of the Battery Management System, comprehensive full system diagnostics, formal battery load testing per IEEE 1188 standards, and verification that the upgraded system operates within manufacturer specifications. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for August 5, 2026 at 0930 PDT, limited to authorized Schneider Electric resellers; attendees must submit completed SECNAV 5512 security forms by August 3, 2026. PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
UPS Battery Cabinet
1. INTRODUCTION
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona Division requires an additional battery cabinet and associated batteries to augment the existing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system currently installed.
2. BACKGROUND
Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona Division operates a Schneider Electric Symmetra PX 250/500 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
In order to expand the UPS's current backup battery capacity, the equipment listed below is required.
3. SCOPE
The objective of this procurement is to acquire, install, and test an additional battery cabinet and forty-eight (48) new Enersys 12HX505-FR batteries to upgrade the existing Schneider Electric Symmetra PX 250/500 UPS. The ultimate end-state is a fully operational, safely configured system that complies strictly with all manufacturer specifications.
The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, tools, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), materials, and equipment required to safely and effectively execute the following tasks:
3.1 Furnish Hardware
The Contractor shall procure and deliver the exact quantity, make, and model of all hardware components required for this upgrade. To ensure integration with the proprietary UPS architecture and to maintain existing warranties, substitute models are strictly prohibited and will not be accepted. The required hardware includes:
. Qty (1) IntraPack Battery Cabinet (Part Number: IP6-48H505-288-1-2D300) . Qty (2) Schneider Electric 300A DC Breakers (Part Number: LGL37040D30ACSO) . Qty (48) Enersys Batteries (Part Number: 12HX505-FR)
3.2 Installation and Integration
The Contractor shall safely install and physically integrate the new battery cabinet and internal components with the existing UPS infrastructure. All installation procedures must adhere to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) safety and installation guidelines. During installation, the Contractor shall:
. Properly seat and wire the DC breakers and battery strings.
. Torque all terminal connections to the exact manufacturer's specified values using calibrated equipment.
. Apply OEM-approved anti-corrosion compound to all terminal connections to prevent degradation and ensure long-term electrical reliability.
3.3 System Diagnostic and Testing
Following physical installation, the Contractor must logically integrate the new hardware into the UPS framework. The Contractor shall:
. Calibrate the existing UPS Battery Management System (BMS) to properly recognize, balance, and monitor the newly installed battery strings.
. Perform a comprehensive full system diagnostic.
. Execute a formal battery load test in strict accordance with IEEE 1188 ("IEEE Recommended Practice for Maintenance, Testing, and Replacement of Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) Batteries for Stationary Applications").
. Verify and document that the upgraded UPS system is fully operational, safely configured, and functioning entirely within manufacturer specifications.
A site visit will be held August 5th 2026, 0930 PDT at NSWC Corona. The site visit is open only to Authorized Resellers of Schneider Electric and all required components. To gain access and attend the site visit, all persons must pass mandatory security screening. A completed SECNAV 5512 must be submitted by August 3rd, 0930.
