About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to a Navy solicitation (N6426726Q4104) for Schneider UPS replacement batteries. The government requires replacement of 144 end-of-life Enersys 12HX505FR batteries with the same model type; existing modules should not be replaced, only the batteries themselves. Schneider Electric has confirmed material, labor, and transportation pricing as of proposal submission, with the right to adjust for price increases due to global supply chain conditions and raw material availability affecting ship dates.

Delivery logistics have been clarified: the battery location is 8-10 feet from the building entrance with no loading dock available, but no physical obstacles exist (no stairs, narrow doorways, or carpeted floors). All accommodations will be made for delivery and technician visits. Building access requires a SECNAV 5512-1 form for all visitors. The government will handle receiving of pallets at the warehouse and transport to the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI), eliminating the need for White Glove delivery service; basic dock-to-dock service is acceptable. No Delivery Checklist form or end-user confirmation is required. This is an all-or-none requirement with award to the single responsible offeror whose quote is most advantageous to the government.

Questions and Answers:

· Shipping costs – Per OEM, "Material, labor, and transportation prices are quoted as of the date of proposal submission. In the event of a material, labor and/or transportation price increase, Schneider Electric reserves the right to make the necessary adjustments to the proposal to account for the adjusted pricing. Due to the current global supply chain shortage and WWLogistics, ship dates may move depending on raw material availability."

· Q: "It is still true that we will be required to add the shipping costs onto the total proposal amount, once we have confirmation on whether the end-user wants White Glove Inside vs. basic Dock-to-Dock delivery, and that we would need the end-user to complete and return the attached Delivery Checklist form to be submitted with any orders placed to Schneider."

· A: White glove shipping would be nice, however, I believe our NSLC folks are capable of handling the pallets from the warehouse to the ADN.

· Q's:

1. Are there any obstacles (stairs, narrow doorways, elevators, carpeted floors, etc.)? A: No.

2. How far is the battery location from the building entrance? A: 8-10 feet.

3. Is there a loading dock available for delivery and removal of the spent batteries? A: No.

4. Are the any parking restrictions at the battery location? A: All accommodations can/will be made for the delivery, and technicians to visit and deliver the hardware.

5. Are there any documents needed to access the building? A: Yes, a SECNAV 5512-1 form is required for all visitors.

· Q: "I see that it calls for (144) 12HX505 batteries. This unit usually takes SYBTU2-PLP modules that are populated with 12 volt 9 amp hour batteries which are quite a bit smaller. The 12HX505 is a 103 lb battery and the 12-9 weighs 6 lbs. Are you able to confirm the necessary batteries, please?" A:Yes, I confirm the batteries required are Enersys 12HX505FR model. See included picture for more information on what we have.

· Q: "Can you please confirm if they want the existing modules re-populated with 12HX505FR batteries or is the SOW to replace 144 SYBTU2 modules?" A: We want our existing 12HX505FR batteries that are EOL replaced with the same type 12HX505FR batteries.
