The intent of this Purchase Order is to fully service the fire alarm systems to ensure the system is maintained operable at all times. The fire alarm system is an advanced setup employing an addressable fire alarm control panel utilizing aspirating smoke detection with continuous air sampling and clean agent discharge system for fire suppression.

2.0 OBJECTIVES

The objective of the fire alarm system preventative maintenance and repair service Purchase Order is to ensure the continuous functionality and reliability of the fire alarm system. This Purchase Order aims to proactively identify, address, and prevent potential issues through regular inspections, testing, and maintenance and perform repairs when necessary. By maintaining the system in optimal condition, the Purchase Order seeks to enhance the safety and security of the premises, comply with regulatory standards, and minimize the risk of system failures or false alarms.

Additionally, the services may include provisions for prompt response to emergencies, keeping the fire alarm system in compliance with UFC 3-601-02 and NFPA standards.

In addition to ensuring the continuous functionality of the fire alarm system, this Purchase Order incorporates a vital coordination component. This involves active engagement with government personnel and regional teams to facilitate repairs, inspections, and testing as required. By fostering effective communication and collaboration with relevant Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), this coordination component further reinforces the commitment to a comprehensive and efficient preventative maintenance and repair service contract.

3.0 SCOPE

3.1 FIRE PROTECTION AND LIFE SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS

The Contractor shall use the current UFC 3-601-02 standard to perform inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire protection and life safety systems and equipment and all test results and certifications shall be recorded. The Contractor shall not make any software upgrades or corrections to the Fire Protection Systems without prior approval and coordination of the Government’s Regional Fire Protection Engineer. The Contractor shall:

Comply with all appropriate safety code requirements. The Contractor shall also review with its employees those parts of the plan necessary to protect workers in emergencies IAW CDRL A002.

The Contractor shall ensure that the fire alarm system is always maintained operable, except while being tested or repaired. It is essential that the Contractor carefully schedule with the Building Manager (BM) all non-emergency shutdowns of the fire alarm system and that back up protection be provided by the Contractor (arrangement of additional personnel stationed at the fire alarm system control panel) any time that the fire alarm system is out of service for more than 4 hours.
