Department performs Metrology, Test, and Monitoring Systems Assessment supporting the NAVSEA Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Program.

2. BACKGROUND

Measurement Science and Engineering Department, Code MS35 provides support and guidance for the Test and

Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and the Calibration Standards Program in support of Navy Calibration

Laboratories. The Depot Level Fizeau Interferometers will be used by Navy personnel in shore-based depot laboratories for calibration of a wide variety of optical flats, gage blocks, and mounted mirrors.

3. SCOPE

NAVSEA METCAL Program requires an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract to procure up to 17

Depot Level Fizeau Interferometer’s for all Navy calibration laboratories necessary to replace the Navy’s current

Plano-Interferometer; the D305 and D309 series by Davidson Optronics. The Fizeau Interferometer shall cover up to four (4) inches in diameter for optical flats with a 4-inch transmission flat.
