About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation 25-SIMACQ-D30-0010 regarding motherboard procurement for the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command. The document addresses three key questions from industry vendors about motherboard specifications and contract details.
The Q&A clarifies that WiFi-enabled motherboards are not acceptable for this requirement, though M.2 slots without modules are permitted. It confirms this is a brand new contract with no incumbent. In response to a vendor's note about end-of-life (EOL) motherboard models, the document provides an extensive list of acceptable TAA-compliant motherboard alternatives from manufacturers including SuperMicro, AsRock, MSI, and Gigabyte. Specific models that include WiFi capabilities (such as the B760M D3HP WIFI6 and Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7) are explicitly excluded from consideration.

25-SIMACQ-D30-0010 Question & Answer(s) From Industry
1. “All of our models are with WIFI now, so the suggested replacement is going to be PRIME Z890M-PLUS WIFI” Can you please confirm so we can submit our best pricing for this solicitation?
Unfortunately, due to our requirements, we are unable to accept parts with WiFi. An M.2 slot with no module installed is ok, but the item cannot have the ability to transmit wirelessly.
2. We are performing independent research on the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (N6339425Q0015). We would like to know if this is a brand new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number? Appreciate any insight you can provide.
Yes, this is a brand new contract.
3. Currently working on your solicitation with the vendor and they returned with below remarks please review and advise accordingly. “Our vendors informed us that the motherboard is EOL. Is there another model you want a quote on?”
These are the acceptable parts for this requirement assuming they are TAA-compliant and meet the Salient Characteristic requirements.
