About this file
This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) related to Solicitation N6247824Q2689 for the Removal and Disposal of Diesel Fuel from Buildings 106 and 234 on US Navy Joint Base Wahiawa.
The Q&A provides details on the pipe disconnection and capping work required. Specifically, the document states that there are associated openings, piping, and fittings for the tanks, and that valves (except ventilation valves) need to be closed and locked as part of the permanent closure. The number and size of the pipes to be disconnected and capped, as well as the total number of caps needed, are not explicitly stated but can be inferred from the attached pictures referenced in the Q&A. The piping appears to be primarily above ground. The Q&A is focused on clarifying the requirements for permanently closing the tank valves and piping as part of the diesel fuel removal and disposal effort.

N62478-24-Q-2689 Diesel Fuel Removal Q&A 1 5-29-24
Question: What size are the pipes to be disconnected and capped in building 234 and how many pipes are there? Are they all above ground? How many caps are needed?
Answer: In the attached document I have pictures of the associated openings, piping and fittings for the tanks. Regarding the valves, SPCC permanent closure states that valves (except ventilation valves) are to be closed and locked. So the suggestion to close them and wiring with lead seal or otherwise locking the valve would qualify.
