About this file

This Sources Sought Announcement (SSA) is issued by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) to conduct market research for three small Robotic Quadrupeds with advanced technological capabilities. The robotic dogs are required for the NCIS Tech Services Field Office (TSFO) robotic program, specifically for dynamic entry specialists conducting high-risk building entries and dangerous area searches. Technical specifications include the ability to navigate and climb stairs in unknown environments, utilize Simultaneous Location and Mapping (SLAM) capabilities with LIDAR and Electro-Optical technologies, provide live stream video and floor plan information, maintain 4-hour battery life, and use robust radio links like Silvus Mesh Radios for command and control.

Vendors interested in responding must submit detailed information by 10:00 AM EST on 28 July 2025, including business name, representative details, business type and size, CAGE code, and recommended NAICS codes (541330 or 334511). Responses should demonstrate technical capability to meet the requirements and may include an initial price estimate. The document emphasizes that this is a market research effort, not a formal solicitation, and submissions are voluntary. The place of performance is located in San Diego, California, and the government is seeking input from businesses of all sizes regarding potential contract vehicles and industry classification.
