About this file
This document is a Sole Source Memorandum for acquiring annual maintenance services for an SLA-3500 3D Printer from RP America, issued by the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division. The contract covers a 1-year maintenance agreement with 2 optional extension years for a specific 3D printer (serial number 960101), including 3 preventive maintenance service visits, 3 repair visits, unlimited technical and software support, priority scheduling, and full parts coverage.
The justification for sole source procurement is based on RP America being the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), possessing the only in-house technical knowledge to properly maintain the printer. The acquisition will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures with a total value above micro-purchase levels but not exceeding $250,000. The Contracting Officer determined the order represents the best value, considering factors like price, special features, and administrative costs, with no alternative sources identified that can meet the specific service requirements.
