| 4. | What is involved in the clearance process? How long does it take to obtain CONFIDENTIAL clearance? Obtaining Confidential clearance involves getting Security's clearance which requires full name and social security number. Once Security authorizes clearance, the individual goes to Pass and ID to get their DBIDs badge. After they have their badge, they proceed to Security, Bldg. 445 to have it verified. Authorization from Security only takes a few days. The individual getting badged can proceed to Pass and ID once Security has been cleared. The last step, getting the badge verified requires coming on base through the Bremerton Gate between 6:30 am and 7:30 am, when the gate is manned, and going to Security, bldg. 445. This process can take about 3 to 4 days depending on how quickly Security clears the individual and how quickly the person getting badged goes to Pass and ID and then Security. |
