The following items are applicable to this modification:
Question #1: In 3.7.4 void preservation table 5 the contractor cannot find voids 2-2-0-V or 2-13-0-V is this a typo and if not can you supply the right void ID.
Answer #1: Paragraph 3.4.7 table 5 void 2-2-0-V should be split to show 2-2-1-V and 2-2-2-V. Void 2-13-0-V should be split to show 2-13-1-V and 2-13-2-V. Table 5 has been updated accordingly. All are shown on dwg 800- 4470385A which was sent with the original solicitation. This answer does constitute a change to the solicitation, and is reflected in the summary of changes of this amendment.
Question #2: Paragraph 3.4.7 calls for ‘Remove existing and install new coating systems to the entire interior surfaces listed in TABLE 5’. Void numbers in Table 5do not correspond to void numbers on 800-4470385 ‘Gen Arrgt/Profile’ drawing. Drawing indicates voids 2-2-1-V and 2-2-2-V not 2-2-0-V. Drawing indicates voids 2-13-1-V and 2-13-2-V not 2-13-0-V. Please clarify number of voids for preservation.
Answer #2: (see answer #1)
Question #3: In table 5 for void preservation voids 2-5-0-V and 2-8-0-V AND 2-11-0-V are we do both port and starb voids?
Answer #3: For table 5 voids 2-5-0-V, 2-8-0-V and 2-11-0-V there is no Port or Stbd. They are one tank extending the width of the vessel as shown in DWG 544-4470389. This answer does not constitute a change to the solicitation.
Question #4: Are we to store & reuse existing fasteners or replace with new?
Answer #4: Remove existing and retain rubber fender fasteners for reinstallation in paragraph 3.2.2.2. SOW paragraph 3.2.2.1.1 has been added for clarification. This answer does constitute a change to the solicitation, and is reflected in the summary of changes of this amendment.
Question #5: Is the contractor to assume all fasteners are to be reused in the installation of the rubber fenders?
Answer #5: (see answer #4)
Question #6: Paragraph 3.2.2.2 calls for install of cleaned rubber fenders. Is contractor to re-use existing fasteners?
Answer #6: (see answer #4)

Question #8: Will the Navy consider holding another ship-check? My understanding is that the middle tanks were closed up during the ship check held on 6/20 so we were unable to assess their conditions for bidding purposes.
Answer #8: No. After paragraph 3.4.3 has been completed if the square footage recommended for touch up preservation exceeds the 200 sq ft per cargo tank identified in 3.4.6 a CFR should be submitted. This answer does not constitute a change to the solicitation.

Is ‘Warning Sign’ intended to be painted on the deck house exterior bulkhead or to be a placard, mounted to the exterior of the deck house? If mounted, contractor request desired material for the placard and mounting method for new Warning Sign.

New warning signs shall be installed using a 12-year service life, low solar absorption (LSA), silicone alkyd coating system as follows: prime coat in accordance with the requirements of MIL-PRF-23236 or 24647, Type V or VI, 4-8 mils DFT; stripe and second coat in accordance with the requirements of MIL-PRF-23236 or 24647, Type V or VI, 4-8 mils DFT; top coat horizontal and vertical surfaces in accordance with the requirements of MIL-PRF-24635, Type III, Grade B, 2-3 mils DFT; installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s F-718.
