About this file

This is a Draft Statement of Work (SOW) for chemical cleaning services at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY). The Navy requires a contractor to chemically clean fourteen total lube oil coolers: six Main Feed Pump (MFP) Lube Oil Coolers and eight Turbine Generator (TG) Lube Oil Coolers. The objective is to restore the sea water side (tube side) to Level III cleanliness and remove all marine growth, with the cleaning to be performed at the contractor's facility. Specific requirements include using only NAVSEA-authorized descaling agents, individually cleaning each cooler, and inspecting the lube oil side to ensure no chemical leakage.

The anticipated Period of Performance is from 6/30/2025 through 7/31/2025, with NNSY responsible for shipping the coolers to and from the contractor's facility. The pre-solicitation (Solicitation Number: N42158-25-SIMACQ-NNSY-200-0055) indicates a Sources Sought Notice closing on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 12pm EST. Interested contractors should contact Eboni Uwuseba or Rebekah Riggins at their provided email addresses. The work stems from a safety incident that has indefinitely shut down the current work area, making this external cleaning contract necessary to maintain project scheduling.
