PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

FOR

Evaluation of Past Acacia Plantings Navy Base Guam Munitions Site (NBGMS) and Sasa Valley Fuel Farm

Since 2009 Navy Base Guam has planted 63,350 Acacia trees on ~175 acres in the Navy Base Guam Munitions Site (NBGMS) and the Sasa Valley fuel farm (Figs 1-3). One year post planting follow up has included mapping of project footprints and counting the surviving trees.

Establishment of trees has not been uniform with mortality occurring in all plots. Reasons behind this spotty survivorship are not known. This project will document survivorship, map footprints, determine primary causes of mortality, and create an Acacia planting plan with maps that will guide future planting efforts with an emphasis on soil and water conservation and fire suppression in the Fena watershed.

The purpose of the project is to evaluate past acacia planting efforts and offer ways to improve survivorship in the future.

Period of Performance is not to exceed 12 months after date of contract award.
