PRE-BID QUESTIONS
NNSY Horizontal Lifelines Inspection, N4008522Q2510
#QuestionDate SubmittedGov't Response
1Please describe the difference between the “New” versus “Old” set of Horizontal Lifelines listed in SOW Item #14/21/22The difference is the way they were anchored on each column and at the end points as apposed to the new system installed now. The new system also allows the inspector to use a sala cable attachment on the lanyard that will let them pass through each connection point while inspecting the rail rather than unhooking their safety belt hook at each point. The old style cable system does not have that availability.
2Are all of the lifelines in this RFQ currently being inspected annually?4/21/22The liflines have been annually inspected.
3On SOW Page 3, Contractor Item #3 – it describes some items for ‘testing’ and some items for ‘checking’. Please provide testing protocol to be followed for any testing to be completed. Also, please verify that ‘checking’ simply implies visual and/or tightening checks with no NDT required.4/21/22The lifelines need to Recertified according to the SOW.
4It is understood that aerial lifts may be required on some of the buildings, but other buildings would be accessed via ladders and/or the crane itself. Can you please structure the bid form to simply remove aerial lifts from the base bid, and add them as a separate ‘allowance’ that may or may not be needed to ensure base bids are on equal scope?4/21/22The Contractor's Proposal to include all equipment to complete the task.
5Please supply the list of horizontal lifelines associated with the cranes from the Crane & Rail group as discussed during the walkdown.4/21/22The life lines were list per building in the SOW.
