43 Is a Basis of Design report required?

A Basis of Design report is required per FC1-300-

09N. 3

44 Are specifications required to be developed?

Specifications will need to be developed for this bundle. 3

Building 106:

The existing Fire lite FACP is noted to be replace with a compatible addressable Fire

Alarm mass notification panel. This does not exist. This panel and devices need to be replaced. Fire Lite does not have a compatible

FAMNS product. The existing devices are not compatible with a MNS system function.

Only the head end panel for B106 will be replaced.

The contractor must pick up all NAC circuits. Monitor all conventional circuits with addressable modules or addressable relay cards. Contractor must also incorporate the elevator recall devices with new panel.

Existing recall panel is temporary until this panel is replaced. 3

Building 106:

1. The RFP identifies diagnosing existing system issues and providing a proposal prior to 35% design. Will this be a change to the contract to accomplish?

Note the following buildings have a requirement for the contractor to complete a full diagnostic of the fire system to identify and errors that the exiting panel has bypassed o B106 Bid Option o B2118 Base Bid o B2110 Base Bid o B2030 Base Bid

• The requirement to submit a report and a proposal to correct these errors or replace faulty components can be deferred from the 35% to the 65% design submittal.

• The government has determined that a 35% design submittal is not required and the contractor will proceed directly to a 65% design submittal

• The government intends to modify the contract upon receipt and verification of the contractors report

• The contractor will be responsible under the terms on the initial contract to deliver an error free system with the exception only of errors identified in the above report 3

• If the government modifies the contract to include those errors the contractor will be responsible for delivering an error free system to include any errors he does not identity.

Is this building to be assessed and brought to current code and standards?

The building does not need to be brought to current code and standards. However, the fire alarm system must be tested and a report must be provided at the

35% design submission. Refer to RFP. 3

Building 1461:

Please provide drawings with all doors and walls identified to provide an accurate count and to layout device locations. Please also include the sprinkler riser, dry pipe, and any other systems that require monitoring by the

FACP. The available drawings are attached in part 6 of RFP. 3 this will require the entire system be replaced and installed prior to demolition of old incompatible system. Please confirm.

Only the sprinkler heads older than 15 years will need to be replaced. The entire system is not required to be replaced. 3

Building 2813:

Mechanical room was not accessible, and this is the likely location of the CO detectors.

Please confirm this is where the CO detectors are required and please provide a floor plan.

There are at least 3 locations requiring CO detectors.

One is in the employee lounge room, another in the mechanical room and one located in the electrical room. The rooms currently all contain temporary stand alones that will need to be removed in place of new ones connected to FACP. 3

Building 201:

Please confirm no fire alarm work is required as none is identified in the scope of work.

1. Fire alarm work is not required in this bundle.

Building 2118:

Please provide floor plan of existing CRAC units and VESDA systems. 2. The available drawings are attached in part 6 of RFP. 3

Building 2118:

After the 14 VESDA and CRAC unit spot smoke detectors are removed is there any fire alarm sensing devices to be installed?

After removal of the VESDA and CRAC unit spot smoke detectors are removed, early warning spot-type laser smoke detectors must be installed one the ceilings and sub floor. 3

Building 2118:

Are LASER SPOT-type smoke detectors required for all CRAC units on only for rooms

269 and 271?

The laser spot-type smoke detectors will be required to be installed in the areas where VESDA systems are removed. 3

Building 2118:

Please identify sequence of operations that is desired.

Please see attached B2118 CRAC UNIT Location and

CFM attachment. 3

Building 2118:

Are rooms 269 and 271 SCIF rooms? There is a dedicated FACP monitoring these rooms, is this to remain? Are the laser SPOT-Type smoke detectors being monitored and powered by this FACP dedicated to these two rooms?

Rooms 269 and 271 are both SCIF rooms and they have different level of SCIF from each other. The FACP is existing and monitors all devices in room 271. Devices in room 269 will report to the existing head end panel in building 2118. 3

Building 2118:

Floor plans with locations of CRAC, VESDA and FACP are REQUIRED. 1. The available drawings are attached in part 6 of RFP. 3

Building 2118:

Please confirm no notification appliances are required. 2. Notification appliances are not part of the scope. 3

Building 115:

No fire alarm work is noted for this building, only sprinkler work. Please confirm this is correct. 3. Fire alarm work is not required in this bundle. 3
