1. ACU: An Air-Conditioning Unit (ACU) is a machine with an air-handler blowing across a refrigerant type coil with a built-in compressor-condenser, thus, independent of a chiller for cooling. ACUs may have several modes of operation involving cooling and/or heating [C±H] specified as follows: (a) [CLG] cooling only; (b) [C+H] choice of either cooling only or heating only, but, not necessarily both simultaneously; and (c) [C&H] selection of either cooling only, heating only, or both simultaneously so as to achieve simulated dehumidification (DH: drying not by desiccant wheel) in which the Process Air (PA) is first cooled (for moisture removal) and then heated (for comfort) thereby reducing the Relative Humidity (RH). Machines that can perform simulated DH are shaded purple.
2. THERMOSTAT: The Process Air (PA) temperature discharging from an ACU must be thermostatically controlled whether in HEAT or COOL mode. CTRL [°F]: THERMOSTAT is defined as a combination of devices that: (a) provides an ability to adjust to a precise temperature set-point; (b) senses the controlled discharge temperature with some degree of accuracy; and (c) automatically responds to minor changes in the detected temperature to activate switching / controlling devices so as to maintain the temperature set-point. A necessary feature is to monitor air temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit (ºF) for both the supply (discharge) plenum and the return (suction) plenum.

5. EXHAUST BLOWERS (BLO [EXH / SRC]–N): The Vendor must provide authenticated documentation from sources other than itself that each of the particular exhaust type Air-Handling Units (AHUs, a.k.a. Exhaust Blowers) as well as the fans within (i.e. the wheel, housing, & motor) are indeed built to satisfy the requirements of Spark Resistant Construction (SRC: AMCA Standard 99-0401-86) Type C. There are two Parties involved, other than the Vendor, in the overall construction of such an air-handler. The first Party is the fan manufacturer and the second Party is the fabricator or assembler of the entire Air-Handling Unit. The Vendor must obtain a signed statement from a principal official of the AHU fabricator / assembler and provide their contact information (E-mail & phone number).

COMMENT: DavidW@CustomAirProducts.com│281.850-7586
COILS/E/C [H+C]–L (ITEM: C3!!!) is a triple coil (HTG: steam and/or electric | CLG: chilled water) High Static Pressure (HSP) Large (–L) capacity air-handler in which a single unit with applicable utilities can sufficiently temper the enormous volume of air within the temporary enclosure that surrounds a submarine (presumes NO AMBIENT – ALL RETURN air). On a 1-for-1 basis, this enhanced PREFERRED triple coil unit can substitute for the current PERMITTED double coil (HTG: electric | CLG: chilled water) High Static Pressure (HSP) Large (–L) capacity air-handler (ITEM: C3!!) greatly enhancing PNS home-station (non-deployed) overhauls where steam is available and allowing for quadrupling the temperature differential (presumes ALL AMBIENT – NO RETURN air).
Based on 22K cfm airflow, the triple coil unit produces: (a) 0.89 MMBH of heat (T = 37ºF via electric only);
(b) 2.06 MMBH of heat (T = 86ºF via steam for heat); (c) 2.95 MMBH of heat (T = 123ºF via both electric & steam for heat); (d) 1.8 MMBH (150 tons) of cooling (Tf=51ºF via chilled water); besides (e) semi-dehumidifying via engaging the upstream chilled water coil followed by a downstream electric heating coil, simultaneously.
The climatological basis for the cooling design as extracted below from ASHRAE for 0.4%: ≈90DB / ≈73WB.
TVENT SPECIFICATION SHEET 3 OF 41
TABLE V1: TVENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS [ UNDERLINED ITEMS NEED EDS W/ MQC OR PID ] BLUE SHADING FOR G F M

🅱 STATEMENT (STMT): ℵ♳⅔Ⅳ℻℀℉⁇γ δ㏋㏈㍶㏇@🅰±º° ⃣M ‼(I)
1. ITEM C2e: Until a follow-on refurbishment or replacement of the 150KW heating coils, it is PERMITTED for the
Process Air fan (motor + wheel) to have either a 10 Hp High Speed (HS) motor developing 8K cfm @ 5" TSP or a 10 Hp Low Speed (LS) motor developing 7K cfm @ 4" TSP. The compromise is either in motor speed (HS vs LS) or in the Fan Curve (Flowrate & Static Pressure). However, the PREFERRED motor is at least 15 Hp Low Speed w/ VFD with a compatible wheel that would allow the fan to develop a peak flowrate of at least 10K cfm @ 6" ESP vice TSP. To reduce airflow so as to allow for a greater temperature differential between suction and discharge (especially necessary when suction air is Ambient vice Return), the heating coil must have either a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) motor (PREFERRED) or a mechanical damper (PERMITTED).
2. TCC: A Temperature Conditioning Coils (COIL) is a machine with an air-handler blowing across non-refrigerant type coil(s) with no built-in compressor-condenser, thus, dependent on a chiller if cooling. COILs may have several modes of operation involving heating and/or cooling [H±C] specified as follows: (a) [HTG] heating only;
(b) [CLG] cooling only; (c) [H+C] choice of either heating only or cooling only, but, not necessarily both simultaneously; and (d) [H&C] selection of either heating only, cooling only, or both simultaneously so as to achieve simulated dehumidification (DH: drying not by desiccant wheel) in which the Process Air (PA) is first cooled (for moisture removal) and then heated (for comfort) thereby reducing the Relative Humidity (RH).
Machines that can perform simulated DH are shaded purple.
3. THERMOSTAT: The Process Air (PA) temperature discharging from a COIL must be thermostatically controlled whether in HEAT or COOL mode.
4. COILs: Coils are independent (Stand-Alone) machinery that merely require connection to the applicable utility(ies) such as steam [STM] and/or electricity [ELEC] and/or chilled water [CHW]. Hence, each COIL requires a complete blower package to include a motor (MTR) that must be COMPATIBLE to its blade or wheel (WHL). The column titled PERFORMANCE CAPACITY provides the minimum (supply air) fan requirements for both the motor and its wheel.
5. CHW COILS: The temperature controlling device for machinery with chilled water (CHW) coils (excludes pre-cooler only on a DCCU / DDU) shall be a modulating (PREFFERED) three-way control valve. Besides the valve's single suction inlet, the valve's dual discharge outlets is either directly to the machine's CHW coil(s) and eventually, to the chilled water RETURN flow or bypasses the machine's CHW coil(s) proceeding directly to the CHW RETURN leg.
The distinct advantage of such a 3-way control valve vice a simple 2-way OPEN / SHUT type is the continuous flow of chilled water within the piping network. Disregarding the semi-annual seasonal adjustment to the CHW SUPPLY (discharge) temperature on the smaller all-season chiller that services the ship's Chilled Water system, do not adjust the CHW temperature on the larger chiller(s) as a control for the COIL's discharge air temperature.
6. FILTRATION: Air-handling coils with filtration shall feature permanent (metal vice fiber) filters for the Process Air Inlet(s) (PAIs) so as to withstand exposure from wet ambient conditions. Inlet fibrous (paper) filters deteriorate exceedingly soon after the first rain storm. Furthermore, air-handling coils that convey fresh outside treated air directly to the submarine's pressurized compartments should feature Moisture Separator / Demister type filtration for purging 98% of the moisture on saturated days (suggested source: www.AirFilterUSA.com / 713.896-8901).
7. ITEM F2/3a: The temperature conditioning coils supplying fresh outside (100% ambient) air to the submarine's interior Compartments can fully saturate the space with moisture-laden air particularly during inclement weather especially if the air is barely or not treated (i.e. not heated nor cooled). The resultant environment can be very uncomfortable from excessive humidity. A Moisture Separator and Mist Eliminator (MS&ME) Filtration Bank would eliminate such a scenario. Besides enhancing comfort, a filtration bank that drains excessive moisture levels from the air would greatly reduce the latent energy input to either heat or cool. The MS&ME Filter Elements shall be washable; function as a low efficiency particulate filter; and be constructed of corrosion resistant matériel such as stainless steel (preferred), galvanized steel, or aluminum. The MS&ME Filter Elements must entirely fill the filter housing with effectively no air-gaps for infiltration of unfiltered air. The machine's filtration housing may require some modification so as to allow for drainage of water droplets from the filter elements; the collection of water from the filter bank; and its eventual diversion of such fluids away from the housing. The MS&ME Filter Elements shall be permanently etched as to which side is UP and which side is DOWN. As a Vendor's CHOICE Ⓥ, the Vendor must clearly state in its Bid proposal as to whether or not the Moisture Separator and Mist Eliminator Filtration Bank is provided and, if so, the exclusive lease rate for that MS&ME line ITEM.

DEHUMIDIFICATION (DH) MACHINERY (ITEM D): D1 = MEDIUM CAPACITY ▌D2 = NORMAL CAPACITY ▌D3 = LARGE CAPACITY
D#: A true dehumidification (DH) machine a.k.a. Desiccant Dryer via a built-in desiccant wheel (constant enthalpy or energy process) and not via air-conditioning with reheat which combines refrigeration coils for moisture removal (RH ) followed by heating coils for process control (RH ). Also, the DCCU must fully integrate the below units into a single housing except for steam reactivation off-site (NLON│NBPL).
D#d: Dehumidification (DH) initially via the built-in pre-cooler (PC) followed by the built-in desiccant wheel (DW) in which the MRR summation is based on the ambient conditions and CHW tonnage as shaded.
D#b: Blower units for the Process Air as detailed.
D#r: Reactivation Heating Coil (RHC) via solely from a steam utility or solely from an electric utility or the capability to engage both as a back-up in case of insufficient steam or complete failure of the steam utility. An all-electric (no steam) model is only ACCEPTABE at off-site locations (NLON│NBPL).
D#h: Heating coils using electricity for post-heating.
D#c: Cooling coils using chilled water (CHW) for both pre-cooling (D#c') and post-cooling (D#c") as detailed.

TABLE V1: TVENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS [ UNDERLINED ITEMS NEED EDS W/ MQC OR PID ] BLUE SHADING FOR G F M
ITEM ID QTY IDENTIFIER PERFORMANCE CAPACITY TRANSITION(S) REMARK / DETAIL / NOTE
🅲 STATEMENT (STMT):
1. PSYCHROMETRIC CHART ANALYSIS OF THE DESICCANT DEHUMIDIFICATION (DH) SYSTEM PROCESS: Post-treatment
(cooling or heating) conditions the air for comfort (changes sensible heat), but, the process does not remove moisture from the air as evidenced by its Wet Bulb temperature (WBT in ºF) remaining the same (no change in latent heat). In fact, post-cool alone (vice post-heat) has an adverse effect on (i.e. increases) Relative Humidity (%RH). To allow for post-cool for COMFORT CONDITIONING (temperature reduction via sensible heat extraction), pre-cool for PROCESS CONTROL (moisture reduction via latent heat extraction – wet coils) must occur to counter the tendency of the former to increase the final Relative Humidity of the resultant DH Supply Air. Thus, because the Shipyard uses Relative Humidity as its criterion (not a differential between metal skin surface and Dry Bulb temperatures), post-cooling of dehumidified air for COMFORT CONDITIONING (sensible heat removal) must always be coupled with pre-cooling of ambient air for PROCESS CONTROL (sensible & latent heat removal).
2. MRR: The submitted Equipment (Machinery) Data Sheet for the desiccant dehumidifier must state the precise MOISTURE REMOVAL RATE (MRR) for the desiccant wheel only and the BASIS (i.e. treated condition) for that rate (see REMARK V5). Furthermore, the Vendor must also state the MOISTURE REMOVAL RATE (MRR) for the entire appliance as a dehumidification system which includes the pre-cooling coil and the BASIS (i.e. ambient condition) for that rate.
3. DH SYSTEM PROCESS AIR (PA) DISCHARGE: Regardless of the size of the desiccant dehumidifier (DH), there shall be a twenty-inch diameter discharge of fully dehumidified and tempered Process Air (PA) for every 5K cfm rated capacity. Hence, for a 10K cfm Normal (–N) capacity DCCU, the final system process terminates in dual twenty-inch diameter outlets (20"Ø × 2) and for a 15K cfm Large (–L) capacity DCCU the final system process terminates in triple twenty-inch diameter outlets (20"Ø × 3). The Government will furnish (GF) the necessary quantity of Psis (Ѱ: 14"Ø : 8"Ø × 3) as depicted in Technical Specification (TS) Section D TVENT SYSTEM: SPECIFIC DETAILS TVENT-1:
GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PART (GFP): MAIN TRUNK (20-IN) TO TRIPLE BRANCH (8-IN) PSI (Ѱ: 20"Ø : 8"Ø × 3).
4. DESICCANT WHEEL REACTIVATION (STEAM ONLY @ PNSY): The PERFORMANCE CAPACITY column provides two equivalent (≡) values for the quantity of Reactivation Heat (RH) energy. The first value is given in kilowatts (Kw) for when RH is via electric heating coils which must be built into all desiccant type dehumidifiers (DCCUs). The second value is given in thousands of Btus per hour (MBtu/h or MBH) for when RH is via steam which also must be built into those desiccant dehumidifiers deployed to PNSY (home station). REMARK V4: STEAM UTILITY applies for when the Reactivation Heat is steam (STM). Although the dehumidifiers deployed to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) normally use steam vice electricity for the reactivation heat year-round, the DCCUs must be capable of electric operation as well in case of a temporary loss of the steam utility or an insufficient amount of steam production.
5. POST-HEATER: The post-heater imparts a substantial amount of energy as all sensible (S) heat via a temperature rise. The PERFORMANCE CAPACITY column provides the heating need in kilowatts (Kw) / thousands of Btus per hour (MBH). The controller for the post-heater must be both thermostatic to an adjustable temperature (65– 140ºF) and manual via a minimum of four stages (switches) in case of thermostat failure so as to achieve a desired worker comfort level. If the thermostat should fail, the Vendor shall make weekly manual adjustments based on Project dictates for comfort and instruct Project personnel on how to make daily adjustments until such time as the thermostat has been repaired.
6. PRE-COOLER: The pre-cooler removes a substantial amount of energy split about equally between sensible (S) heat via a temperature drop and latent (L) heat via moisture removal (i.e. the pre-cooler is a wet coil). Thus, a pre-cooling coil must remove about twice as much energy as a post-cooling coil. The PERFORMANCE CAPACITY column specifies the required cooling capacity in terms of tonnage as well as equivalent flowrate. To achieve a desired amount of energy removal, the controller for the pre-cooler shall not be thermostatic, but, either manual or automatically adjusts to a particular flowrate (gpm) and/or temperature differential (ΔTºF).
7. POST-COOLER: The post-cooler removes about half the energy as its matched pre-cooler and all of it as sensible
(S) heat only via a temperature drop (i.e. the post-cooler must never become wet; or else its discharge is 100% RH). The PERFORMANCE CAPACITY column specifies the required cooling capacity in terms of tonnage as well as equivalent flowrate. To achieve a desired worker comfort level within the constraints of not exceeding 50% RH for the volume space, the controller for the post-cooler must be both thermostatic to an adjustable temperature (50– 85ºF) and manual in case of thermostat failure. If the thermostat should fail, the Vendor shall make weekly manual adjustments based on Project dictates for comfort balanced by RH process requirements for the controlled space and instruct Project personnel on how to make daily adjustments until such time as the thermostat has been repaired.

TVENT SPECIFICATION SHEET 7 OF 41
TABLE V1: TVENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS [ UNDERLINED ITEMS NEED EDS W/ MQC OR PID ] BLUE SHADING FOR G F M
ITEM ID QTY IDENTIFIER PERFORMANCE CAPACITY TRANSITION(S) REMARK / DETAIL / NOTE
🅳 STATEMENT (STMT):
1. AMOUNT OF HOSE & ELBOWS: The product of the QTY (# of Lots) and the PERFORMANCE CAPACITY (QTY: # of hose lengths or HOSE: length of hose) columns from TABLE V1 indicates the amount of hose assemblies with camlock end fittings (ITEMs: H3c / H4c / H6c | IDENTIFIER: HOSE [3"/4"/6"CAM]–N/L/X). Additional CHW hose assemblies can be associated with particular SEASONAL machinery and equipment such as Manifolds (ITEMs: M3X, M2Y, M3T, & M3Y); Pumps (ITEMs: P#); Stand-Pipes (ITEMs: S3b & S3t); and possibly two short Jumper hose assemblies for a Valved Assembly (ITEM: V3g) when not hard-piped to its thru-type manifold (ITEM: M3X or M3T). The size (3"/ 4"/ 6"), gender (M / F), type (CAM / FLG), sweep (90º / 45º), and quantity (EA) of elbows are in the table's last column.
2. EXCESS HOSE & ELBOWS: After the Project finishes installing all seasonal TCHW piping system(s), the Vendor is encouraged to pick-up all excess elbows and practically all excess hose assemblies so long as the Project can recall a portion of that excess at no additional expense. Practically all is interpreted to mean that if the remainder of hose assemblies of a particular size is greater than one-hundred feet (>100'), then one-hundred feet (100') of hose assemblies of each size (TVENT: 3/4/6"Ø CAM) shall remain on-site in case of hose failure or for rerouting.
3. SUCTION HOSE: The Technical Requirement (TR) and rationale for the Vendor Leased (VL) SUPPORT hose assemblies (LA ITEM H3s: HOSE [3"Ⓒ/II]–N or VA ITEM H4s: HOSE [4"Ⓒ/II]–L) are that they be NON-COLLAPSING (Ⓒ) suction hose. The NON-COLLAPSING suction (– & + pressure) vice COLLAPSIBLE discharge only (+ pressure only) hose has three distinct advantages for this particular application. The first benefit is that the Minimum Bend Radius (MBR) for NON-COLLAPSING (Ⓒ) suction hose is substantially less than for COLLAPSIBLE (Ⓒ) discharge only hose. The Minimum Bend Radius (MBR) for such hose are as follows: NON-COLLAPSING 3"Ø = 12" | 4"Ø = 18" | 6"Ø = 31" vice COLLAPSIBLE 3"Ø = 30" | 4"Ø = 40" | 6"Ø = 60". Although the Maximum Working Pressure (WPMAX) is slightly less for non-collapsing hose (reinforced synthetic fabric of 2 vs 4 plies), 150 psig WPMAX for non-collapsing hose is sufficient. The second benefit is that the Government Furnished (GF) Hose Insulation Cover can easily be installed over a firm entity such as non-collapsing hose, but, would be nearly impossible to install over a non-firm entity such as collapsible hose. The third benefit is that the Outside Diameter (OD) of NON-COLLAPSING suction hose better complements the minimum Inside Diameter (ID) for the GF Hose Insulation Cover. The NON-COLLAPSING hose assemblies (ITEM: H#s) OD and the Hose Insulation Cover (ITEM: H#i) ID tolerance range are as follows:
3"Ø NOM (H3s / H3i) = 3.50"OD / 3.62 – 3.79"ID and 4"Ø NOM (H4s / H4i) = 4.53"OD / 4.58 – 4.80"ID.
4. MATÉRIEL: The tube material for the Vendor Leased (VL) SUPPORT hose assemblies associated with the all-season chiller-pump (LA ITEM H3s: HOSE [3"Ⓒ/II]–N or VA ITEM H4s: HOSE [4"Ⓒ/II]–L), shall be a black smooth Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) matériel blend. The hose stock reinforcement shall be a two-ply synthetic fabric (positive pressure: ≥150 psig) with a double wire helix (negative pressure: ≥28" Hg) thus, non-collapsing. The outer cover material shall be a black fabric impression EPDM matériel blend. The maximum Working Pressure (WPMAX) at a non-duress ambient temperature of 68ºF shall be at least 150 psig. With the expected degradation in the WPMAX, the temperature operating range for the completed hose construction shall be –20ºF to +160ºF. Branded on the outer hose cover shall be the logo for the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) with an indication of the type of hose (i.e. Catalog Number and/or Title) and its nominal diameter. An equivalent EPDM hose meeting the Technical Requirements is the Rubber Water Suction Hose Series 4450 as manufactured by Jason Industrial Inc.Ⓡ (phone: 973.227-4904 & website: http://RubberProducts.JasonIndustrial.com).

5. CLEANLINESS FITTINGS: As a critical SUPPORT component, it is particularly important to maintain cleanliness quality for hose assemblies dedicated exclusively to the ship's Temporary Chilled Water system (TCHW[SHIP]). To ensure that cleanliness after immediately flushing and draining the suction type (Non-Collapsing) hose assemblies (LA ITEM H3s: HOSE [3"Ⓒ & II]–N or VA ITEM H4s: HOSE [4"Ⓒ & II]–L), attach appropriately sized plastic or metal cleanliness type end fittings which shall remain affixed to the hose assemblies upon delivery to the shipyard.

TVENT SPECIFICATION SHEET 10 OF 41
TABLE V1: TVENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS [ UNDERLINED ITEMS NEED EDS W/ MQC OR PID ] BLUE SHADING FOR G F M
ITEM ID QTY IDENTIFIER PERFORMANCE CAPACITY TRANSITION(S) REMARK / DETAIL / NOTE
🅴 STATEMENT (STMT):
1. CLEANLINESS: To maintain cleanliness and prevent damage to manifold / piping components with valve(s), install custom-fit metal or hard plastic cleanliness type caps/plugs onto all camlock type end fittings and bolt custom-size metal or hard plastic round plates onto all flanged openings prior to Shipyard delivery.
2. MANIFOLD TYPE: The flow path of a Wye type manifold is to / from the two smaller openings from / to the larger opening, similar to a Y. The flow path of a Tee type manifold is straight thru the two larger openings with a single tap-off to / from the smaller opening, similar to a T. The flow path of a 4-way Universal Manifold (M3X) would be as if a Tee type manifold and a Wye type manifold were interconnected, similar to an X. The TVENT SYSTEM: SPECIFIC
DETAILS TVENT-5: UNIVERSAL MANIFOLD in Section D of this Technical Specification (TS) provides expanded details.
3. QUANTITIES: For manifolds, the valve quantity detailed for its construction under the PERFORMANCE CAPACITY column is for each individual piece and is double that for a pair. But, quantities for ELBOWS and HOSE is for each lease ID (V##) regardless of the dimension for its QTY, whether it be a unit (UN) or a pair (PR). Unless stipulated differently, hose assemblies and elbows shall terminate in male and female cam-lock type fittings (M & F CAM).
4. CHILLED WATER LOOP CONTROL VALVE (VALVE [GLOBE]–X): A continuous flowing Chilled Water (CHW) Loop must control the base (minimum) amount of fluid flow to the farthest Manifold Station (i.e. most distant to/from the chiller-pump) so as to set the pressure differential between the SUPPLY (higher static pressure) and the RETURN (lower static pressure) hose runs thus, ensuring chilled water flow in the proper SUPPLY / RETURN direction. A globe type Control Valve of Extra Large (–X) capacity (i.e. 6"Ø) is installed at the farthest Manifold Station between the discharge of the last in series flow-thru type Cross (╬) or Tee (╦) SUPPLY Manifolds to the suction of its associated first in series flow-thru type Cross (╬) or Tee (╦) RETURN Manifolds (i.e. ITEM M3X: MANF [4"╬ 6"]–UX or ITEM M3T: MANF [4":6"×2]–XT). For the stacked Universal Manifolds, the preference is to attach the valve directly to the farthest (last) SUPPLY–RETURN Universal Manifold Station. The recommended valve is the DIN Angle Type Bellows Seal Globe Valve (WJ44H) Item No. DSW546375 from SZ-Wholesaler:
http://www.sz-wholesaler.com/p/1068/1099-1/din-angle-type-bellows-seal-globe-valve-wj44h-546375.html
5. GLOBE VALVE ASSEMBLY: The Globe Valve Assembly requires two each six-inch diameter (6"Ø) jumper length (5'±2'L) camlock (M & F CAM) hose assemblies unless it is hard-piped into the Temporary Chilled Water (TCHW) Dehumidification (DH) Loop between the last Supply and its first Return thru type Manifolds (ITEM: M3X or M3Y).
COMPLIANCE TO THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AS DESCRIBED IS CRUCIAL TO THE SHIPYARD'S FREEZING PREVENTION
(FP) RISK MITIGATION PLAN (RMP) FOR THE SHIP'S ALL-SEASON TEMPORARY CHILLED WATER SYSTEM (TCHW[SHIP]):
6. The Freezing Prevention (FP) Heat Exchanger (HX) Steam Manifold (HX1) is positioned immediately downstream of the chiller-pump's discharge and then connected to only secure utility(ies) of either ShipYARD Low Pressure (LP) oil-free 100 psig air because of its substantial reservoir and/or low voltage (110 VAC) electrical power because of its connection to a secure power source (i.e. battery back-up w/ generator) per Section D TVENT MACHINERY & EQPT: NOTES; SUBJ: FREEZING PREVENTION (FP) HEAT EXCHANGER (HX) STEAM MANIFOLD (ITEM: HX1) FOR THE ALL-SEASON
CHILLER for further details.
7. CHILLER & COIL @ DISSIMILAR ELEVATIONS: When a pair of six-inch supply and return chilled water hose runs must be routed TO / FROM the drydock floor FROM / TO the top of the drydock wall (e.g. 200 ton chiller located on the drydock floor, but, machinery w/ chilled water coils placed on the drydock wall platform or vice versa), then there is a need for double-pipe SUPPLY & RETURN Stand-Pipes (ITEMs S3b & S3t: SP [BOTTOM]–X and SP [TOPSIDE]–X).
Flanged hose assemblies (ITEM H3f: HOSE [6" FLG]–X) will vertically link the drydock floor [BOTTOM] Stand-Pipe to the drydock wall [TOPSIDE] Stand-Pipe directly above. The Stand-Pipe (SP) piping shall have long ninety degree elbow (90ºL) sweeps and, as such, shall be a single-stand mounted unit that satisfies the Lifting and Handling (L&H) requirements (cage not required). Each of the Stand-Pipe's two pipes (SUPPLY & RETURN) shall house an accessible (i.e. not above standing-height) OPEN-SHUT MANUAL HANDLE & NEGLIGIBLE-LEAKAGE type valve (ball, not butterfly) constructed of metal (i.e. not plastic). End fittings on the Stand-Pipes shall be flanged (6"Ø FLG × 150#), however, a pair of flange to cam-lock Adapters per TABLE V1 shall be provided (6"Ø M + F CAM : FLG × 150#).
8. FLANGE STATEMENT: All flange and bolt dimensions shall be ASME / ANSI B16.5, Class 150# (eight bolt pattern), not Class 300# or greater (twelve bolt pattern). Vendor is to provide a sufficient quantity of correctly dimensioned hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, & flanged gaskets) to make-up all of the potential flange to flange connection points. Flanged gaskets shall be pre-drilled for their Class, new (virgin), and of the proper size / durometer / matériel for an environment exposed to ambient conditions.
