The result is a lean clay body, little refractory, fired in a kiln (at 1200-1400 C°) until it reaches a non-porous vitrification and a complete water-proofing.
Provide wall base along all walls, with special wall trim pieces similar to the floor tiles.
Cutting floor tiles to be used as wall base is not acceptable.
- Floor drains: Provide minimum of one floor drain per bathroom room. Provide stainless steel floor drain with integral p-trap to avoid bad smells.

- Ceiling: Provide acoustic suspended ceiling system (Armstrong type) over all internal areas of the bathrooms.
Prior to the installation of the new false ceiling surfaces, the contract includes removing the defective plaster, fixing any structural defects, and covering all ceiling surfaces with new reinforcing plaster
- Ventilation: As required by Moldovan regulations.
- Windows: Most windows were replaced by the beneficiary. The contract only includes replacing any remaining wooden doors and removing and reinstalling the existing PVC windows in order to provide a perfect connection between the existing windows and the new wall surfaces. - Heating: Provide new heating radiators, bimetal type. Provide new heating piping within the renovated areas recessed within the new walls or floors. Connection points between the existing and the new piping shall be exposed, or next to an access hatch for inspection and maintenance. Provide each radiator with isolation and control valves. Size and location of radiators shall be designed by the architect hired by the contractor, but as a minimum they shall be provided under each window. 3.2.3 Bathrooms not requiring complete renovation
The contract includes the complete renovation of 7 bathrooms. However, the building includes a minimum of 9 additional bathrooms. These bathrooms have received some level or renovation and therefore, the contractor shall minimize the work in these areas to the items of work described herein.
The purpose of this project is to provide adequate sanitation facilities. For that reason it is imperative that the project includes the replacement of all those sewer lines not found to meet Moldovan regulations or that are defective. Therefore the contract includes replacing all metal sewer lines with new PVC gravity sewer lines, from all bathrooms to the nearest manhole outside the facility. This includes any metal sewer lines that go through the ceiling deck and into the floor.
The contract includes cleaning as necessary the sewer lines from the exterior manholes to the nearest manhole outside the plot of land of the kindergarten, or replacing those sections of sewer line found not to comply with Moldovan regulations or that cannot be repaired in case there are roots inside the sewer lines.
The contractor shall estimate that they will have to remove sewer lines in all bathrooms, with the need to destroy most of the flooring in the ground floor bathrooms in order to provide new PVC sewer lines from the plumbing appliances to the nearest manhole outside the building.

3.5 Water and Sewer outside the areas to be renovated
The general basis of design is that all renovated works shall comply with Moldovan regulations. A renovated bathroom cannot comply with latest regulations if their water lines are connected with old metal water lines or if their sewer lines are connected with metal sewer lines that are rusted and full of roots.
For that reason, the contract includes connecting the water lines of the 7 bathrooms and the 3 kitchenettes to the water meter supplying water to the kindergarten. The contract includes removing the old water lines in compliance with Moldova regulations to avoid dead end pipes.
Additionally, it includes the sewer lines from all the bathrooms (16 units) and kitchenettes (14 units) to the nearest manhole outside the plot of land. This means that the contractor shall remove all the metal sewer lines from the 16 bathrooms and 14 kitchenettes and provide new connections with the exterior manholes using PVC gravity lines, certified in Moldova to be used in gravity sewer systems. This means that the contractor shall be required to dig new channels or trenches within the ground floor of the kindergarten, in order to install the new gravity sewer/drainage lines.
The contractor is responsible to restore all flooring to original conditions.
From the nearest manhole to the first manhole outside the plot of land, the contractor shall inspect and clean or replace the sewer lines in order to verify that the sewer system complies with the regulations. It is also included the necessary potential repairs to the concrete manholes, including the repairs and internal plastering that may be required.

- Esthetics similar to the new roofs provided by the beneficiary.
- 4 planes – 4 slopes pitched roof
- Minimum slope as required by Moldovan technical regulations
- Extending 0.8 meters on the perimeter (eave). If one of the blocks would be for example
21.15 x 17.85 m, then the horizontal projection of the roof would be minimum of 22.75 x
19.45 m.

- Weight supported by the building structure. No weight shall be supported by the horizontal structural beams of the building. The contractor’s architect shall perform a full structural analysis of the existing building to guarantee and certify that the building structure will not support overloads as the result of the new roof construction. For that reason, it is estimated that the contractor’s design shall include:
o Metal beam around the perimeter of the roof parapet to evenly distribute the weight of…
