SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
The following have been added by full text:
QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES
Question #1: Need clarification on 4.2, it mentions TSP boil out water however in the body of the requirement of the spec there doesn't appear to be any paragraph or reference involved with the boiler. Is it implied in something I am missing?
Response#1: The cleaning of USS Hawaii san tanks will not include a TSP boil out.
Question#2: . The specification does not require the cleaning of the tanks with use of hot TSP solution but TSP waste is mentioned at the end of the spec. Is the TSP boil out required or not?
Response#2: : TSP waste water is no longer mentioned in work item as boil out will not be part of the requirement.
Question #3: The number one and two sanitary tanks in USS Hawaii contain human waste which precludes cleaning residuals from being disposed of in the PVT landfill as indicated in para 4.2. In the performance of similar work approximately 35 drums of sludge were generated and had to be shipped to and disposed of on the mainland. It should also be noted that access covers for these tanks are mounted low and to the side of each tank which prevents certain operations required by the work spec which are normally performed through the top mounted access cover for san 2 on a 688 class sub.
Response #3: PVT is no longer referenced in the work item and contractors shall plan on commercial disposal of waste water at a LOCAL facility pending satisfactory lab analysis. The reason why this work item does not contain a TSP boil out for the cleaning of sanitary tanks 1 & 2 is because the access covers are located on the side of the tank and not on top like the 688 Class.
