About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document from the Military Sealift Command (N3220526R6134) issued on 16 September 2026. The document addresses clarification questions from potential offerors regarding a 75-day vessel charter solicitation and explicitly states that the answers provide clarification only and do not constitute an amendment to the solicitation.

The single question-and-answer pair addresses the intended geographic scope and potential danger pay locations for the charter period. The Government clarifies that ports for the 75-day charter will primarily be located in Europe, with one exception being a stop in Aqaba, Jordan in the Northern Red Sea. The Government indicates there is currently no intention for the vessel to transit the Bab al-Mandeb Straits or the Gulf of Aden; however, the Government reserves the right to change routing depending on operational needs. The answer does not designate these areas as imminent danger pay locations based on current plans, though this determination remains subject to change.
