About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines requirements for testing and repairing two Aqua-Chem SPD35-53TPD single-stage waste heat double plate seawater distillers aboard the USNS ROBERT E. PEARY. The work is to be performed at Norfolk Naval Station between February 7-28, 2025.

The contractor must provide an authorized Aqua-Chem service representative to conduct underway operational testing of both distilling units, which have been non-operational for over six months. The representative will spend approximately 5 days onboard during testing. If performance falls below manufacturer specifications, the units must be opened, inspected, and repaired using ship's spare parts. Any repairs that cannot be completed must be documented in an electronic condition found report (CFR) with recommendations submitted to the port engineer. The work requires proper tag-out procedures and disposal of liquids in accordance with regulations. The point of contact is Andrew Maksimowicz, Principal Port Engineer.
