Questions and Answers 1 N32205-19-Q-2034 02/15/2019

Question 1: Can MSC provide a copy of the current ISO 9001:2015 certificate?

Answer 1: Yes. It is now uploaded to this FBO posting as an attachment.

Question 2: Paragraph 3.2.1.3 should be removed. Clients do not dictate audit duration. Audit duration is governed by international accreditation Mandatory Documents.

Answer 2: Based on the requirements provided to us by our current registrar, this represents our best estimate of duration. The actual audit duration will be dependent upon circumstances.

Question 3: Section 6.3 Table should be modified as to the due date. The due date for the first surveillance audit is April 26, 2019. Future surveillance audits must be conducted once per calendar year.

Answer 3: Due to scheduling conflicts with the MSC team, the audit must be completed NLT 29 March.

Question 4: State the total number of FTE, PTE, and contracted personnel working within the scope of the certified QMS (do not include vacancies).

Answer 4: MSCHQ Norfolk FTE 1084, PTE 0, Contractor support varies due to need.

Question 5: State what exclusions, if any, the Agency has taken to ISO 9001.

Answer 5: Clause 7.1.5 Monitoring and Measuring Resources and Clause 8.3 Design

Question 6: State whether shift work occurs along with the hours of each shift.

Answer 6: None

Question 7: State whether the Agency has in its possession all previous audit reports issued by the current Certification Body (yes or no).

Answer 7: Yes

Question 8: State whether the Agency has in its possession all previous corrective actions issued, if any, by the previous Certification Body (yes or no).

Answer 8: Yes

Question 9: Is the organization QMS scope applicable to one location or multiple locations?

Answer 9: MSCHQ sites in Norfolk, VA

Question 10: Provide a breakdown of employees by major function/department within the organization.

Answer 10: Flag Staff 98, Director Ship Management 78, Director Maritime Operations 774, Total Force Management 134

Question 11: Who is the current Registrar of MSC’s certification?

Answer 11: ABS-QE

Question 12: Were there any major nonconformities issued at the ISO Certification audit?

Answer 12: No

Question 13: Are there any ISO 9001 clauses that are not applicable to the Quality System Scope?

Answer 13: Clause 7.1.5 Monitoring and Measuring Resources and Clause 8.3 Design

Question 14: Is ISO 9001 clause 8.3 (Design & Development) applicable?

Answer 14: No
