USNS BIG HORN (T-AO 198) RFP NO: N32205-17-R-4014
REQUEST FOR SPECIFICATION CLARIFICATION
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO: 407
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.3
TITLE: NEW GPS, WINDBIRD AND NEMA DISTRIBUTION FOR BRIDGE NAVIGATION
EQUIPMENT
QUESTION: Line 7.3 has “verify power and antenna location…” The list of CFM equipment, line 3.2.6 the part number is only for the wind display, no mast wind antenna sensor is listed. The requested display works with multiple antenna sensors. Are they asking for a new mast antenna sensor and antenna cable or will this just tie into an existing RM Young system? Also in line 7.3 the “Install new wind bird listed in para, 3.2.4”. Item 3.2.4 is actually a Furuno serial splitter. Line 3.2.1 Furuno GPS. I assume they want the better GP170D differential version, not the GP170 that is listed? Line 7.1, “Remove existing cables”
Which ones? Equipment line 3.2.2, what is the 3-way switch for. There is nothing in the scope of work about it.

GP170 that is listed? Line 7.1, “Remove existing cables” Which ones? Equipment line 3.2.2, what is the
3-way switch for. We desire the GP170D differential version // Remove cables to existing GPS displays on navigation bridge // Disregard the 3 way switch and install the HUB100 ntework switch between the
GP-170D displays.
