2. Is the intent of the item to fabricate a new port waste oil tank in its entirety? What does the reference to shell plating mean?

3. Will any work be accomplished on the starboard oil tank?

4. Will any main deck plating be replaced or is reference 2.6 provided because the expected rigging route will pass through the main deck?

ANSWER:

1. References available via AMRDEC SAFE Website.

2. Yes, fabricate a new port waste oil tank in its entirety. Reference to shell plating refers to the plating making up the tank boundary. Tank is a free standing tank and thus does not share a boundary with the ships shell.

3. Starboard tank will be coated.

4. Reference 2.6 is provided for purposes of rigging route development. Apart from possible rigging route interference the main deck is not required to be replaced. Contractor shall use this reference along with the remaining references to determine the optimal rigging route to submit for MSCREP approval.
