1. Pre-Test Services
1.1. Prepare a formal test procedure and design package in accordance with MIL-DTL-901E and applicable notes in Sections 3.4 and 3.6 below. A separate test procedure will be prepared for each unit listed in Table I. Customer will provide equipment specific information and drawings in a compatible format as requested.
1.1.1. All fixtures are designed to be minimum rigid to support the equipment under test, but not intended to simulate any specific stiffness or frequency. MIL-DTL-901E and other specifications may require analysis of test fixtures for approval prior to testing.
1.1.2. The customer will provide the Shock Response Frequency (SRF) of the shock mounts for any calculations required by MIL-DTL-901E.
1.2. The vendor upon award will fabricate the required fixtures and dummy weights for conducting the various Large Displacement Shock Simulator (LDSS) blows and conducting the vibration test. Based on like items tested, we anticipate fixturing weighing no more than 1000 lbs. All fixtures shall be constructed of mild grade steel (A36 or equivalent material type).
1.3. Mounting hardware for the unit will be provided by the customer. The equipment will arrive fully assembled and ready for installation, including simulated mast piping and adequate lifting points to be handled by the overhead crane at the vendor's facility. All shipping arrangements and associated costs to and from the vendor's facility will be the customer's responsibility.
2. Large Displacement Shock Simulator (LDSS) Testing & Reporting
2.1. Prior to installation of the equipment, the vendor will utilize a simulated mass comparable to the test item and conduct calibration blows on the machine to evaluate performance.
2.1.1. After completion of the calibration blows, the vendor will provide the customer with the best possible outcomes based on the desired blow schedule. Customer may provide direction for any modifications to the blow schedule. The customer may require additional calibration blows with additional costs as agreed to by both parties.
2.2. Vendor will make test preparations to install the antenna/fixture assembly onto the LDSS machine.
2.3. Vendor will provide 120V, single phase, 60Hz power and/or 440V, three phase, 60Hz power to test units at minimal amperage. All power at the facility must be in a wye configuration. Equipment will be provided with wiring harness capable of direct connection to site power.
2.4. Upon completion of installation, within 24 hours the customer will perform pre-test operational and/or visual inspections.
2.5. The vendor will install, monitor, and record up to six (6) single axis accelerometers installed as four (4) for verifying test input on the equipment or mounting plate and two (2) on the LDSS to verify the blow geometries and inputs.
2.6. Vendor will conduct a test series on the LDSS, per direction from NSWC Philadelphia. The requested blows are as follows, totaling nine (9) blows for the AS-1735 and seven (7) blows for the AS-4163:
