Lower wattage for transmitter is acceptable with a flight worthy airborne receiver/recorder/rerad combination, provided normal aircraft transmitters do not interfere with lower wattage signal. (See Table 2 for threshold and objective requirements for components). Units shall be calibrated based on standards listed under Recalibration.
Item 0004– P/N XX External Input Module
This item is designed to be an easy to change plug in module for multiple different input options. Table 1 contains a sample list of known types of external input modules, but this is not a complete list as configurations continually change. The intent of this list is to have the ability to purchase any of these type of external input modules for the same price with type being a subgroup to allow flexibility in purchasing.
Item 0005– Monopole Antenna
Either stick or blade antenna is acceptable. Antenna should be optimized for center around 2250 MHz and allow for <10% signal loss at 2200 or 2299 MHz. Antennas should use standard SMA connectors. Antenna shall have a positive means for securing (Safety wire hole or locking nuts based on antenna design).
Item 0006– P/N XX Extension control cable
Allow for communication with/recharging of 6DoF units when installed in a store and/or direct connection to the 6DoF is not available. This cable should allow for the same functions as if directly connected to the 6DoF.
The connector on the extension cable cannot exceed the size of a DB9 standard connector (See Table 2).
Item 0007 – P/N XX Extension RF Cable
Allow for remote installation of antenna when 6doF is installed inside of a store. Shall have SMA connectors on either side M/F (See Table 2).
Item 0008– Recalibration
Once the unit has been received by the contractor, the contractor will calibrate the sensors in the 6DoF to the original specification. The contractor shall calibrate each unit using standards of OPNAV INST 3960.16A
NAVY TEST, MEASUREMENT, AND DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT (TMDE), AUTOMATIC TEST SYSTEMS
(ATS), AND METROLOGY AND CALIBRATION (METCAL). If new methods or procedures of calibration are desired, they must first be approved by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The contractor shall provide a Calibration Record for each unit that is re-calibrated (CDRL A001). The Calibration Record shall be provided in electronic form within one week from the time the unit was calibrated. After the units are calibrated, the contractor shall affix a new calibration indicator on the unit. The Contractor shall return the calibrated unit(s) back to the government facility within two weeks of receipt.
Item 0009– Memory Upgrade non volatile
This is an upgrade option to the 6DoF units to allow for internal storage of measured data per requirements of Table 2. This memory must retain all recorded data in the event of a power loss and shall not write over existing data on restart. The memory must survive the flight envelope of the 6DoF (threshold) with the objective to be crash/impact survivable (>1000g).
Item 0010– Repackaging for special installations
This line item is to cover the NRE and production costs for specific mounting applications. Repackaging will be negotiated at a cost basis at the delivery order level.
