About this file
This document is a federal solicitation notice for a specialized part (NSN 7R-1680-016017101-E7) with specific source approval requirements. The procurement is for 8 units to be delivered FOB Origin, with a critical emphasis on engineering source approval by the design control activity. The government intends to solicit and negotiate exclusively with Raytheon Company under FAR 6.302-1, though other responsible sources may submit proposals within 45 days (30 days if under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement) of the notice's publication.
The solicitation highlights unique technical constraints, requiring that only previously approved sources can provide the part due to its flight-critical nature and specialized manufacturing/repair knowledge. Potential vendors must submit detailed technical data and source approval information through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) if they are not currently an approved source. The government reserves the right to make an award based on Fleet support needs, even if source approval processes are not fully completed, and will only award to offerors, products, or manufacturers meeting specific qualification requirements.
