PPI AND ANSWERS

INQUIRIES:

1. Section IX. work description item 5 states to remove a flanged bypass valve. A flanged bypass valve was not identified during the site visit and did not appear to be part of the piping system. Is this item to be removed from the SOW?

Yes, please see revised scope section IX, 15.

2. Section IX work description item 6 states remove bypass valve and install a new section of pipe. No bypass valve was identified during the site walk. Is item 6 to be removed from this SOW?

Yes, please see revised scope section IX, 16.

3. Section IX. work description item 7 states to remove a 6” 3-way valve and replace with a flanged spool. The piping system identified during the site visit was 1-1/2” and 2”. Is this item to be removed from the SOW?

Yes, see revised scope section IX, 17.

4. Section IX work description item 8 states that glycol in the piping system will need to be captured and pumped back into the system. Please confirm the piping system includes glycol.

There is no glycol used in the system.

5. Additional piping insulation on the northside of the pump enclosure was identified as being damaged during the site visit. Is the additional piping insulation identified during the site visit to be replaced?

Yes, see revised scope section IX, 5-6 in the work description.

6. The 2” line located below the pump enclosure appears to have damaged insulation. Is the insulation on this line to be replaced through the pump enclosure?

Yes, see section IX of work description, 4.

7. Due to the smaller magnitude and limited scope of this project, can the same person serve as Superintendent/QC/SSHO?

Confirmed, the same person can serve as Superintendent/QC/SSHO.

8. Section C. statement of work states to remove pressure reducing valves with freeze protection. This statement is also included in item IV products letter F; however, section IX work description does not mention pressure reducing valves. There were no pressure reducing valves identified during the site visit. The chilled water supply and return lines do include pressure relief valves. Are the pressure relief valves installed on the supply and return piping to be replaced with an automatic freeze protection device? If so this would not be the correct application for this type of system if it contains glycol.

This work was removed from the scope. No work is anticipated on any valves, pipe, or reducers.

9. Please confirm that item 10 in section IX work description can also be removed if no bypass valves or 3-way valves are being removed from the system.

Yes, see revised scope section IX, 17.

10. Is any record information available on the existing heat trace system currently installed?

No, see revised scope section IX, 7. Work related to removing heat tape was removed from the scope.

11. Are existing shielded insulation inserts and strut clamps to be replaced as part of the insulation replacement?

Yes, see revised scope section IX, 10.

12. Current project bid date is Saturday October 12th. Is this the correct bid date?

No, proposal due date will be extended to a business day.

13. Please confirm heat trace wire is only to be replaced on the 2” makeup water line.

Keyport does not want any heat trace tape replaced.
