STATEMENT OF WORK
1. SCOPE
This specification reflects those salient characteristics that are essential to the minimum requirements of the Government for Modular Metal Finishing production lines. These systems are to include the installation and testing of the new equipment and the training of operators and maintenance personnel as specified herein. It is the Government’s intent that a single (primary) contractor be awarded this contract and be responsible for the accomplishment of all work detailed by this specification.
The systems are to be manual processing lines with a modular design concept, manufactured in sections to minimize installation time and materials. It shall consist of tanks, heaters, thermostats, and exhaust hoods integrated into two modular systems with electrical controls pre-wired and water lines and drains pre-plumbed to termination and inlet points. The systems shall be fabricated with single-point connections for utilities, waste water, and fume exhaust ducts.
This specification details two separate lines: one with four process tanks and the other with three process tanks.
Appendix A identifies the process tanks associated with each of these lines. These lines will be integrated with an existing metal finishing line at installation. For reference, these are manual lines – no hoist system is required – parts and racks will be handled manually by an operator or via an existing bridge crane. The majority of parts processed will be less than 1 cubic foot, with some parts up to 2’ x 2’ x 1’. The lines will be in operation for a single-shift each working day.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
