About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details the United States Naval Academy's (USNA) requirements for a high-performance computing workstation for scientific computing and AI inference in the Space Systems Engineering Lab. The workstation must include specific hardware components: an AMD Threadripper PRO 7995WX CPU with at least 96 cores and 192 threads, an NVIDIA T400 graphics GPU, two NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada accelerator GPUs with 48 GB GDDR6 RAM, an Asus Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE motherboard, 256 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, a 1 TB M.2 NVME SSD, a 4 TB SATA 2.5" SSD, and a 1600 W power supply. Additional requirements include a full tower case without tempered glass, Ubuntu LTS operating system installation, and a cooling system that prevents thermal throttling.

The contractor must deliver a functional workstation with all internal cables installed and managed, along with technical documentation and specifications. Quality assurance provisions mandate component compatibility, with a specific requirement that RAM be compatible with both the CPU and motherboard. The contract includes a 3-year parts warranty and technical support upon request. The scope is specifically for acquiring this high-performance computing workstation that meets the detailed technical specifications outlined in the document.
