Questions to Project Management Training RFQ
1. Can you provide more details on the expected format and duration for each of the 8 courses? Are there specific modules or content outlines that need to be followed?
The courses would include lecture, group exercises, case studies, and quiz or test on the subject area(s) taught. Each individual course is expected to be no longer than 3 days. There would be no more than 8 courses for the program held once monthly over a 12 month period. The courses must cover the areas identified in the RFQ: leadership, project communication, managing projects, requirements, risks, scheduling, cost management, contracts, quality. The courses should address Agile project management over Waterfall where possible and must address the five phases of project management and ten knowledge areas covered in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) 7th edition.
2. What are the specific requirements for the group exercises and case studies in each course? Are there examples or templates available?
There are not specific templates for the group exercises and case studies as these are general requirements for any training course. The group exercises would be specific to the subject area(s) being taught and appropriate for small groups to enhance their learning of the subject. Similarly, the case studies would be applicable to the subject area(s) and enhance learning of the subject.
3. Are there specific brands or types of training materials and equipment preferred or required for use in the training sessions?
Training material is commonly provided as hard copies of information being displayed by the instructor for lecture, group exercises and case studies. The PMBOK Guide v7 hardcopy or e-download should be provided to students.
4. Can you confirm the specific technological requirements for remote participants using Microsoft Teams? Are there any specific configurations or software versions needed?
The instructor will need a laptop capable of connecting to commercial wi-fi. The version of MS Teams we use is updated frequently; however, should not be an issue as we can establish the MS Teams meeting for the instructor to use. The instructor would then be displaying the same material on screen in the classroom and via Teams.
5. How will student feedback be collected and used to assess the quality of instruction and materials?
The local training leads for our organization will provide a single paper form to students to collect feedback on each course. The TA and COR will review the feedback and determine its use. The vendor may choose to collect similar feedback from participants as well.
