About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document clarifying specifications for a modified shipping container unit. The container must include wood flooring (not steel), interior wall finishes consisting of 1-1/2" foam insulation, 3/8" plywood board, and white textured plastic lining with finished panels installed over the foam board. A 15,000 BTU PTAC air conditioning unit with thermostat is required; through-wall units are not acceptable. Four-foot LED lights may be substituted with LED inset lights at the contractor's discretion.

Electrical specifications include 230/208/1 phase power with a NEMA 3 disconnect and NEMA 1 electrical panel. The PTAC unit requires 240-volt power at 12.5 amps (3kW) with a dedicated 240-volt receptacle, plus a separate 120-volt GFCI receptacle. The container does not require unloading capabilities or personnel doors, as it will not remain closed during occupancy. Delivery must be arranged via tilt-bed trailer for ground placement, with crane support available at additional cost to the customer (referred to as "COMMAND").
