SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
The following items are applicable to this modification:
SUMMARY OF CHANGES (REVISED)
SUMMARY OF CHANGES
The purpose of this amendment is to 1) answer questions received in response to the solicitation issuance, and 2) extend the solicitation closing date, as follows:
1. Questions received in response to the solicitation issuance are answered below:
Question 1: In the solicitation document, it notes CLIN 0001 as “First Article Testing – Head Cap” and CLIN 0002 as “FAT – Head Cap – As Cast”. However, there are no production CLINs that note “As Cast”. In the First Article Testing paragraph 4.3.1 of the SOW it states “First article sample shall consist of “as-cast” Head Caps for x-ray method verification, or machined and finished Head Caps for dimensional verification. And in the Acceptance of Product paragraph 4.4.3 of the SOW it states for X-Ray “100% As-Cast and Machined”. Are we to make 10 FAT units of each, machined and cast? Or is it one or the other like the FAT paragraph uses? The CLIN structure and Acceptance of Product paragraph leads me to think we need to do 10 or each, but with no As Cast in the production CLINs I am not sure.
Answer 1: The vendor is to make a sample of 10 FATs and they can be machined or cast in accordance to the specifications. It simply offers two methods of manufacture, and vendors only need to test 10 samples of one method.
Question 2: Do you happen to have any previous award information for this posting? If it has been previously awarded at all?
Answer 2: NSWC IHD has not purchased these items since at least 2003 and therefore does not have any previous information to provide; we are considering this a “new” buy.
2. The solicitation closing date is extended FROM: 22 August 2022 3:00pm EST TO: 25 August 2022, 3:00pm EST.
3. All other terms remain unchanged.
4. Direct questions to Ashleigh Bowie at ashleigh.m.bowie.civ@us.navy.mil.
