STATEMENT OF WORK
Statement of Work
1.0 Chemical Analysis Services in Support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Code 612
2.0 Background and Objectives
NSWCCD Code 612 performs research and development in the areas of physical metallurgy, fire protection, and related fields. Code 612 also provides in-service engineering and technical support to NAVSEA technical warrant holders and various program offices. As part of the research and development efforts and engineering support, it is necessary to procure chemical analysis services for a wide range of material types. The full list of required services and detailed requirements for each service are provided in Section 3. These services are typically procured through NSWCCD Code 612 furnishing roughly pre-sized specimens to a contractor, who then performs final machining of the furnished material to specified dimensions and tests the resulting specimens in accordance with relevant standards and specifications. Results of the tests are then provided to NSWCCD Code 612, and any tested specimens that are not dissolved, disintegrated, or otherwise destroyed as a result of testing are returned for further analysis by NSWCCD engineers.
The objective of this contract is to procure chemical analysis services from a vendor. The services will be used to assist Code 612 in providing research, development, and engineering support services to the NAVSEA technical community and other sponsors.
